McDowell is honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame under the category of Motion Pictures. In attendance are friends Gary Oldman, Rob Zombie, and Mark-Paul Gosselaar. The actor is delighted about the location of his star, stating:
My father ran a pub in Burscough in Lancashire, just outside Liverpool, so I feel that from the Bull and Dog to the Pig and Whistle, it’s not that far.
