Offers McGregor part of his UFC share
When Wahlberg, a minority shareholder in UFC, is asked about McGregor wanting a share in UFC he initially says he should pay his own way, before offering a share of his.
He’s gotta cut the check. Everyone’s gotta cut the check if they want a piece…You know what, as a matter of fact, I’ll give him a piece of mine ‘cos his is the face of UFC right now…He’s a hustler like me so there’s probably a lot of other opportunities for us to go out and make money together.
When asked if he would like to see McGregor in a film:
He’s a movie waiting to happen. Why not?
Victim wants Wahlberg pardon
0 CommentsJohnny Trinh, the victim of Wahlberg’s assault in 1988, says he hopes Wahlberg gets his pardon from the Massachusetts Board of Pardons.
I would like to see him get a pardon. He should not have the crime hanging over him any longer. He paid for his crime when he went to prison. I am not saying that it did not hurt when he punched me in the face, but it was a long time ago. He has grown up now. I am sure he has his own family and is a responsible man.
Asks for pardon
0 CommentsWahlberg petitions the Massachusetts Board of Pardons to have a 1988 assault conviction removed from his record. Wahlberg says the conviction could possibly keep him from obtaining a concessionaire’s license in California and other places where he may wish to expand his Wahlburgers restaurant.
I am deeply sorry for the actions that I took on the night of April 8, 1988, as well as for any lasting damage I may have caused the victims. Since that time, I have dedicated myself to becoming a better person and citizen so that I can be a role model to my children and others.
Mark Wahlberg interview
Popsugar interviews Wahlberg about losing weight for his role in the film The Gambler.
I felt miserable, like my character. Not a happy camper. I love food. I like exercising, but I like exercising when I’m eating properly, and having to exercise twice as hard as I’ve ever done without eating was pretty much a nightmare. But, you know, that’s what Rupert and those guys wanted to do, and they had a specific look in mind I was like, fine.
Transformers: Age of Extinction
Wahlberg plays Cade Yeager, a Texas mechanic who realizes his old semi truck is indeed an alien robot. When the government threatens his daughter things take a turn for the worse in this action drama, directed by Michael Bay. Co-starring Stanley Tucci.
I loved the fact that I made a lot of movies recently where we shot no more than like 35, 40 days. But in this one, we’re on, what, Day 43, and we’re not even half done yet. But it’s a big story, and obviously something that I’m excited about. I haven’t done it for a while, and my kids are really excited about it. And it’s just different; I’ve gotten to a place where I don’t have to be so crazy about waiting around. The big stuff is easier to deal with at this point in my life. But I did purposely get away from it for a while.

Wins MTV Movie Award
Wahlberg wins MTV Movie Award Best On-Screen Duo for Ted shared with MacFarlane.
I know what this really means — many people have gotten this award before … Jim Carrey, Ben Stiller, Adam Sandler, Jennifer Aniston and many others. And do you know what they all have in common? None of them were invited back; they’re all too f—ing old! This is the ‘you’re too f—ing old to come back’ award … this is ‘you’re f—king done.’ …But you know what? It was a great run, and I’m a lucky guy in so many ways to have worked with so many talented people, to have gone from literally being incarcerated to having a one-hit rap career to having an underwear modeling career to getting a real chance from Penny Marshall. I’m about to cry in a minute — hold on!
Wins Critics Choice award
Wahlberg wins Critics Choice Award Best Actor in an Action Movie for Lone Survivor.

This action drama is directed by Peter Berg. Co-stars include Taylor Kitsch, Emile Hirsch, Ben Foster and Eric Bana.
It’s the first time I’ve ever done a movie like this and I can’t compare it to any of the others I’ve made. It wasn’t about politics and it wasn’t about glorifying war, it was just showing what these soldiers do. It was a tribute to them and also to the Afghan people.
2 Guns
0 CommentsWahlberg plays Michael Stigman, an undercover agent along with Robert Trench (Denzel Washington) who find themselves on the run after a an attempt to infiltrate a drug cartel. This action drama is directed by Baltasar Kormákur. Co-starring Paula Patton, Bill Paxton, Fred Ward, James Marsden and Edward James Olmos.
I was attached to the movie first, and it was always about who is the other guy. It’s about the two guys, no matter what they’re doing. You look at ‘Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid,’ they’re running from something that you never really saw. But with these guys, it’s like usually they’ll take the comedy guy, and then the very straight guy and put them together. We didn’t want to do that. I felt like you had to have two really formidable opponents and to earn that camaraderie, to earn that trust in one another. And that was really the movie.
Pain & Gain
0 CommentsWahlberg plays Daniel Lugo, a recently released convict who served time for Medicare fraud and later gets caught up in an extortion ring and a kidnapping scheme that goes terribly wrong in this action drama, directed by Michael Bay. Co-starring Dwayne Johnson, Anthony Mackie, Tony Shalhoub, Ed Harris.
I was training five days a week. I’d start with benching, and then I’d do my squats and lunges, then I’d do a lot of old-school stuff. I’d literally do a row of machines at the Sports Club/LA. One set of every single machine all the way down the row. I’d leave the hotel at 4:30 in the morning—just as the nightclubs were letting out on South Beach. I’d walk in the gym as the door opened at 5:00 AM every day.
Broken City
0 CommentsWahlberg plays Billy Taggart, an ex-cop who seeks redemption and revenge after being double-crossed and framed by a powerful person, the Mayor Nicholas Hostetler (Russell Crowe). This crime drama is directed by Allen Hughes. Co-starring Catherine Zeta-Jones, Jeffrey Wright, Barry Pepper.
I remember in a particular scene in the alley, I punched that particular stuntman and his head hit the wall. Then I went to punch him again but he slipped and I punched the brick wall. My hand swelled up like a balloon! But you want to make it real – you’ve seen the slick editing and choreographed fights before. How about we just put the camera there and let it happen? No sound effects, nothing.
Contraband
0 CommentsWahlberg plays Chris Farraday, an ex-smuggler who heads to Panama to score millions of dollars in counterfeit bills to protect his brother-in-law from a drug lord. This action drama is directed by Baltasar Kormákur. Co-starring Kate Beckinsale, Ben Foster and Giovanni Ribisi.
I saw the original and I fell in love with it. I thought, what a cool way to do a heist thriller that has a lot of heart and intensity. I love the character and the way he was able to respond to things and react. He was as smart as he was tough. I just thought it was really cool when I saw it and that an American version would be very entertaining.
Planet of the Apes
0 CommentsWahlberg plays Leo Davidson, an Air Force astronaut, who crashes on a planet called Ashlar in the year 5021. There he discovers that the world is ruled by humanoid apes, who can speak and treat human beings as slaves. The film is directed by Tim Burton and co-stars Tim Roth, Helena Bonham Carter, Michael Clarke Duncan, Paul Giamatti and Estella Warren.
Acting with people in gorilla suits is not exactly something that turned me on but I had to keep reminding myself the reason why I was there. There were days that I started to panic. The first day I freaked out. There was this kid with tribal markings on his face, a guy in a gorilla suit and Helena. It all seemed pretty ridiculous.
The Fighter
0 CommentsWahlberg plays Micky Ward, whose own career in the ring is nearly sent down for the count due to drugs and crime in this action drama, directed by David O. Russell. Co-stars include Christian Bale, Amy Adams and Melissa Leo.
I’m like, ‘I better get this movie made.’ You know, ‘Kill somebody if I don’t get this movie made.

0 CommentsWahlberg plays John Bennett. As a boy, Bennet wishes for his new Christmas gift, a large teddy bear named Ted, to come to life to be his friend. The two get into many predicaments and drama unfolds as Bennett grows up and questions his relationship with Ted. Directed by Seth MacFarlane and co-starring Mila Kunis, Seth MacFarlane, Joel McHale and Giovanni Ribisi.
I heard the concept and I was like, ‘I’m not really interested in this movie. I don’t want to be doing a movie with a teddy bear.’ But then my agent said, ‘Just read the script’ and I said, ‘Okay.’ I read the script. Thirty pages into it, I forgot that it was a bear. I thought, ‘Wow, this is a great buddy movie and I really get the dilemma’.
The Lovely Bones
0 CommentsIn this supernatural drama directed by Peter Jackson, Wahlberg plays Jack, the father of a murdered 14-year-old girl. He begins to obsessively research his neighbors to try to find out who killed her. Co-starring Rachel Weisz, Susan Sarandon, Stanley Tucci, Michael Imperioli and Saoirse Ronan.
My biggest reason for wanting to be a part of this was Peter Jackson. I’m a huge fan of Peter’s. Because of the way I approach work, I wasn’t all that thrilled about the subject matter because I have a beautiful little girl and two beautiful boys. I don’t have the God-given talent that Rachel has to just snap into it and have these floods of emotion coming out and then turn it all off. So I basically had to live in that headspace for the entire time. I just thought it would be a beautiful movie and it was too good to pass up the opportunity to be a part of it.
Max Payne
0 CommentsWahlberg plays Max Payne, a cop determined to track down those responsible for the brutal murders of his family and partner. This action drama is directed by John Moore. Co-starring Mila Kunis, Beau Bridges, Chris Bridges, Chris O’Donnell, Donal Logue and Olga Kurylenko.
I’d just done The Happening with M Night Shyamalan, where I’d played a science teacher, and I played an accountant in The Lovely Bones, so I was looking to go back and do something with a lot of action and intensity. I read this script and loved it.
