Calls Cyrus a ‘bitch’
Minaj calls Cyrus a bitch at the VMAs.
And now, back to this bitch that had a lot to say about me the other day in the press, Miley what’s good?
The taunt is in reference to Cyrus’ New York Times interview where she said Minaj’s Twitter spat with Taylor Swift was about herself as opposed to the real issues.
You made it about you. Not to sound like a bitch, but that’s like, ‘Eh, I didn’t get my VMA’…If you want to make it about race, there’s a way you could do that. But don’t make it just about yourself. Say: ‘This is the reason why I think it’s important to be nominated. There’s girls everywhere with this body type’.
Cyrus replies:
We’re all in this industry. We all do interviews and we all know how they manipulate shit. Nicki, congratu-f-ckin-lations.
The camera cuts back to Minaj who seems to mouth back, “Bitch.”
New York Times interview
Cyrus is interviewed by The New York Times about hosting the VMAs and talks about her famous twerk with Robin Thicke
Everything I’ve ever done has been true to me at that minute. Even down to my TV show [“Hannah Montana”] — when I started I was 12 years old, and that was like a dream to me. So that was my truth at that moment. Me coming out of that teddy bear, to me, wasn’t just a teddy bear. My dad always explained it to me that you step into your happiness. That’s kind of like what I was doing. When I broke down the bear belly, I was really breaking out — my show ended, and then I didn’t really work for two years. That’s when I did my most self-exploration. [The performance] was kind of going into this way of saying, ‘I’m just going to do what will make me happy.’ At that moment, that’s what really made me happy…I knew who I was, and I knew the power that I held, but I don’t think I realized my full power until that show. I didn’t realize I could make such a big reaction. I didn’t think that many people would care. I knew I was famous, but I didn’t know what that meant. Everything was coming to an end and starting a new beginning. In every way.
I was in the studio with Kanye [later] that night, and we watched it back and we didn’t say anything. He was like, “That was sick,” whatever. We woke up the next day, and he was like, “Whoa.” He called and said, “Turn on your TV.” I was staying at the Trump Hotel and Donald Trump literally called and said, basically, “I know everyone’s talking about it, but I loved it.” I had no idea anyone was talking about it yet. Even people around me really judged me. People that I really loved and thought were my friends judged me for it. They were like, “You were on drugs when you did that performance.” I did nothing! I still don’t get it.

Elle cover
Cyrus appears on the cover of the May 2014 issue of Elle magazine. She talks about being stronger, her fans, and feminism.
I’m just about equality, period. It’s not like, I’m a woman, women should be in charge! I just want there to be equality for everybody. I still don’t think we’re there 100 percent. I mean, guy rappers grab their crotch all f-cking day and have hos around them, but no one talks about it. But if I grab my crotch and I have hot model bitches around me, I’m degrading women? I’m a woman — I should be able to have girls around me! But I’m part of the evolution of that. I hope.

[Miley is] very, very selective when it comes to magazine covers. Miley declined Seventeen and denied being a part of it, completely. But Seventeen still pushed for Cyrus and, with or without her consent, will be rolling issues of her onto newsstands everywhere. Miley Cyrus interview
Seacrest interviews Cyrus during On Air With Ryan Seacrest and questions her about her Bangerz Tour.
They’re [my fans] going to be exposed to art most people don’t know about. People are taught to look at things so black and white, especially in small towns. I’m excited to take this tour to places where [art] like this wouldn’t be accepted, where kids wouldn’t learn about this different kind of art.

Miley Cyrus interview
Seacrest interviews Cyrus during On Air With Ryan Seacrest about her tour plans.
Literally my whole life is revolving around this tour right now. Diane Martel and I, we’re putting together this tour that’s going to be insane. The minute you step into my arena, the whole thing feels like your a part of this crazy different world and you step in to a show the minute you walk in the door, rather than it being a show when I come onstage. I just want the whole arena to always have a vibe and it to be fun and be a totally different experience and nothing that’s obviously traditional.

Kanye is the s–t. I kind of have a good relationship with him now. It’s good to have someone you can call and be like, ‘Yo, do you think I should wear this?’ ‘Do you think I should go in the studio with this guy?’ ‘Do you think this is cool?’ That’s what homies are supposed to do.

Wrecking Ball
Cyrus releases the single, Wrecking Ball, from her album, Bangerz. The video is directed by Terry Richardson and shows Cyrus naked, sitting on a fake wrecking ball.
I think the video is much more, if people get past the point that I’m naked and you actually look at me you can tell that I actually look more broken then even the song sounds. The song is a pop ballad. It’s one of these songs that everyone is going to relate to, everyone has felt that feeling at one point.

People refer to [cocaine] as ‘Miley Cyrus’. My name is used in hip-hop songs to mean that, so even if I’m saying ‘Miley,’ people could still find something wrong with it.

Some of the worst things that have happened in my career, like things getting leaked, have actually been what’s best for me, because people knew when I was on that show that I was really growing up. I never faked anything. I never played the Disney game of smiling and being a princess and then suddenly having a hard time, saying, “That isn’t who I really am.”
