Coster-Waldau appears as Ser Jaime Lannister in the third episode of Game of Thrones, Lord Snow. Lena Headey plays his twin sister, Queen Cersei Lannister. Mark Addy plays King Robert Baratheon, while Sean Bean plays Lord Eddard Stark, the Hand of the King. At King’s Landing, Lord Eddard displays his disdain for Jaime for killing former king Aerys Targaryen while serving in the kingsguard. Jaime responds that Aerys had murdered Lord Eddard’s father and brother. The court learns that Lord Eddard’s second son, Bran Stark, has regained consciousness after falling from a tower at his family’s stronghold, and Cersei is concerned that he will reveal her and Jaime’s role in the fall. Jaime tells Cersei that if this is revealed, he will gladly go to war until only the two of them remain alive. Questioned by King Robert over Aerys’s death, Jaime replies that the former king was a murderous madman.
