Drum-off on ‘Fallon’
Ferrell and Smith appear on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon to put an end to their rivalry. The two wear matching outfits and speak as the other person in an interview with Fallon. Ferrell describes when he first heard of the “impostor”:
Yeah. I was jammin’. I was jammin’ with the Chili Peppers, with my guys. At our jamhouse. I’m like, ‘Flea, this is bull. I’m tired of not getting enough respect as Chad Smith.’ I’ll be honest, I’m a little high right now.
The two then engage in a drum-off (with Questlove acting as ghost drummer for Ferrell). The challenge was interrupted when Smith’s Red Hot Chili Peppers bandmates appeared for a rendition of (Don’t Fear) the Reaper.
Hollywood Walk of Fame
The group is inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame at the 27th induction ceremony. Kiedis on how deceased member Slovak have loved the honor:
I think that he would have a good laugh. Yeah, it would certainly mean something to him as he cared deeply about music and the love of the brotherhood of being in a band and being a creative force in the universe, which he is and always will be a brother in everything we do.
