Well, when it comes down to it, I’m the supreme being. I don’t think supreme beings compete in supporting.
Emmy nomination
Paulson is nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Miniseries or Movie at the 65th Primetime Emmy Awards for portraying Lana Winters on American Horror Story: Asylum.
I’m away from home and I’m not with any of my friends. I’ll go try and find the rest of the crew that is here and go drink some Champagne. Maybe I’ll start now. Is that weird?
Emmy nomination
Paulson is nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Miniseries or Movie at the 64th Primetime Emmy Awards for portraying Nicolle Wallace on Game Change.
I can’t begin to express how exciting it is to be recognized alongside these extraordinary actresses. I love that I had the chance to play a character like Nicolle Wallace. She has this mix of political savvy and integrity that I found so interesting. I’m so thrilled Game Change was received so enthusiastically by the Academy.
Game Change
Paulson plays Nicolle Wallace, a senior adviser on John McCain’s presidential campaign, in this drama written for the screen by Danny Strong and directed by Jay Roach. After Sarah Palin is tapped to be the Vice Presidential candidate for the Republican Party, Wallace has much of the responsibility for prepping her public appearances. Her efforts prove futile, however, as the campaign ends in defeat. Co-starring Julianne Moore, Woody Harrelson, and Ed Harris.
I’m not a Republican. But my job is to believe what she believed in—to make the case for my candidate, which is what Nicolle did. So, to me, I felt a great deal of responsibility to not screw it up.
