Subway is a fast food restaurant chain headquartered in Milford, CT that mainly sells sub sandwiches. It has 42,070 restaurants in 107 countries, and is the largest fast food chain in the world. It was founded in 1965 by Fred DeLuca and Peter Buck as Pete’s Super Submarines. In 1966, they formed Doctor’s Associates Inc., which continues to own the company. They chose this names in hope of earning enough money for DeLuca to attend medical school. Subway’s best selling sandwich is the BMT, which includes pepperoni, salami, and ham.

Subway announces azodicarbonamide will be phased out from its bread by next week. Azodicarbonamide is approved by the FDA as a bleaching agent and dough conditioner, but its use in food has been petitioned by consumers who note it is also used in yoga mats and is banned in other parts of the world.

You see the social media traffic, and people are happy that we’re taking it out, but they want to know when we’re taking it out. If there are people who have that hesitation, that hesitation is going to be removed.
