Stevens arrives in Benghazi

A small Department of State team headed by Christopher Stevens arrives by chartered boat in Benghazi. They set up shop in a hotel. Benghazi has already been liberated but Moammar Gadhafi is still in power in Tripoli and a war is going on. The U.S. Ambassador has been expelled from Tripoli by Qadhafi and the Embassy staff has been evacuated because it’s unsafe. So Chris Stevens and his team are the only U.S. Government people in Libya at this time. [1.
