Anthony Hopkins interview
Hall interviews Hopkins on the Arsenio Hall show. They talk about how he grew up with English comics in England, and working on Thor. They also talk about his favorite comics.
It was brought up with English comics called Dandy and Beano and my favorite character was Desperate Dan. Then after the war, not the First World War, The Second World War, Captain Marvel was the comic that came to England. Captain Marvel was completely new for me.
Red 2 Interview
Willis, Hopkins and Mirren are interviewed by Jake Hamilton. They talk about who would Willis think would play the best role of being a hitman. Willis:
Well she (Helen Mirren) takes it very seriously, she knows you have to do what your boss tells you.
The Talks interview
Hopkins gives an interview to The Talks. He discusses actors being more sensitive, directors that inspire him, and being obsessed by acting.
I used to be a bit obsessed by it but not anymore. I do enjoy acting but I probably enjoy it more now because it’s easier. I can’t work in the theater because to me it’s too serious. It’s like being in prison for me. I admire people that can do that but I can’t do it. I’d rather live my life and do a bit of acting in between.
Hopkins makes the win for Best Actor in a Leading Role for his portrayal of cannibal serial killer Hannibal Lecter in Silence of the Lambs (1991).
I want to say hello to my mother. She’s in Wales watching this on television with Eve and Jean and Jill and Tony. My father died eleven years ago tonight, so maybe he had something to do with this as well, I don’t know. But I want to say thank you to the Academy for your tremendous generosity. To my friend Bob Palmer, my friend and publicist. My dear, beloved wife Jenni. And I have many people to thank here in Los Angeles who over the years have given me tremendous support, without whose help I wouldn’t be here, I know. And I am greatly honored and tremendously moved. And I—God bless you all. Thank you very much.
