Bobby Womack
Bobby Womack was an American singer, songwriter, and musician born in 1944 in Cleveland, Ohio. He began his career as the lead vocalist for The Valentinos. Womack also was the guitarist for R&B singer Sam Cooke. Womack’s most popular songs include If You Think You’re Lonely Now, Across 110th Street, Woman’s Gotta Have It, and Lookin For a Love. He also wrote The Rolling Stones’ single It’s All Over Now as well as New Birth’s I Can Understand It. Womack was elected to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2009. In 2014, Womack died from complications of cancer. He was married to Regina Womack.
