Chaka Khan is an American singer and songwriter born in 1953 in Chicago, Illinois. She began her career as the lead singer of the funk group Rufus. Some of the group’s notable songs were Sweet Thing, Ain’t Nobody and Tell Me Something Good. From there she started a solo career and released albums such as Chaka, Naughty, Chaka Khan, I Feel For You and What Cha’ Gonna Do for Me. Throughout her career, she has earned 1o Grammy Awards and has sold over 70 million records.
