The Avett Brothers
The Avett Brothers is an Americana/Folk/Rock band formed by brothers Scott and Seth Avett from Concord, North Carolina. Scott, born in 1976, and Seth, born in 1980, grew up learning to play musical instruments from their father, and participating in family jam sessions and performances. The brothers initially formed a rock band called Nemo while in high school and college, but in 2002 went on to create their current ensemble, which includes: permanent members Bob Crawford and Joe Kwon, and touring members Mike Marsh, Paul DeFiglia, and Tania Elizabeth. Within a decade, the group went from being an Indie band playing in small bars and clubs, to signing with a major label and playing to audiences in the tens of thousands worldwide.
