Adventure of a Lifetime audio release
Coldplay release the audio for Adventure of a Lifetime, from their album, A Head Full of Dreams. The band says they have collaborated with Tove Lo, Noel Gallagher and Beyonce on the album, which will contain 12 songs, including a hidden track, X Marks The Spot. Parlophone:
Revitalized, they’ve made an album that’s bursting with energy, colour and big, life-affirming moments such as the deliciously ebullient first single Adventure of a Lifetime and the rocket-powered Hymn for the Weekend. Coldplay has never enjoyed making a record more than this one. Nor have they been happier with the results.
Lost+
The band releases Lost+, featuring Jay-Z, from their album, Viva La Vida. Martin:
The line in this song ‘Just because I’m losing, doesn’t mean I’m lost‘ is what the whole record came out of, because we were feeling down at the end of the last tour. That line arrived and it was, ‘OK, that’s how we kinda feel. We know we can improve’.
Lovers In Japan
The band releases Lovers In Japan, from Viva La Vida. Martin:
No one associates romance with Japan. Everyone thinks Japan is just about Hitachi and neon signs, but every time we’re there, we see these amazing sunrises. It’s very sexy.
Talk
The band releases Talk, from X & Y. Martin:
What happened with Talk is that it was all going great, and then someone said ‘That should be the first single,’ and we all just freaked out and scrapped it all. I hate choosing singles, it’s so hard. (But) when we heard it mixed properly, it sounded mega.
Fix You
The band releases Fix You, from their album, X & Y. Martin:
Because it’s so unlikely that that song would have come out of that period. The rest of that album (X&Y) I like, but I don’t think it’s great. Whereas that song… it’s the best one because it almost single-handedly got us through a really difficult two years. You could say it’s too soft or whatever, but… it does exactly what it says on the tin. Even when I’m singing it, by the time I get to the end, I’m thinking, ‘I like this’.
