The Married With Children cast reunites to honor Sagal’s star on o the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Ex-husband O’Neill recalls working with Sagal, and the chemistry between the cast.
I met Katey in 1986. We were both trying out for the parts of Al and Peg Bundy. We didn’t know each other. We just had a feeling that we had chemistry between us. Of course, we did the show for 11 years. It was a great experience. We grew together as a great cast and great friends, and the whole family is here today.

It’s gotten harder having a little person around. I don’t know how others maintain their same lifestyle when they have someone they’re cooking for. Even though Sadie eats incredibly healthy, she eats a lot that I wouldn’t. She has a very fast metabolism and she needs a lot more calories than mama does! It’s been hard to maintain the perfect diet for myself. For breakfast, I juice a big green juice and I try to get in as much raw food and protein as I can, obviously plant proteins and legumes but sometimes it’s late at night and there’s a frozen pizza in there and sometimes it’s all you’ve got! You don’t have the energy to chop up a bunch of vegetables. I go to frozen pizza or soy chicken nuggets when I need a five-minute meal.

You know when you have a baby, the truth of the matter is, you really don’t go out anywhere. I mean, people manage, I don’t know how they do it. For me, I’m so tired at the end of the day, the last thing I want to do is get in the car and put lipstick on and go somewhere. It’s not in the cards at all.

This year’s nomination means more to me than ever before. I’m incredibly happy and honored. Certainly it’s bittersweet—we no longer get to do the show that we love so much, but that doesn’t take away from the excitement and honor of this nomination. This is a wonderful recognition of what we created together every week.

Double mastectomy
0 CommentsApplegate says she has undergone a double mastectomy even though cancer was only detected in one of her breasts. She watched her mother, Nancy Priddy, battle breast cancer only to suffer from a recurrence many years later.
Sometimes I cry. Sometimes I scream, and I get really angry and I get really into wallowing in self-pity sometimes, and I think it’s all part of healing. My decision, after looking at all the treatment plans that were possibilities for me, the only one that seemed the most logical and the one that was going to work for me was to have a bilateral mastectomy. So basically I had a prophylactic double mastectomies.
