Lies

Chvrches release their single, Lies, which is originally published online as a demo track without being signed to a record label. Martin Doherty:

When Lies first went on the internet, there were loads of conspiracy theorists saying “Oh, they’ve signed this deal, or that deal, to get where they are; it’s all a big ploy’.” We were completely unsigned. We had no idea how it would go. We spent no money marketing the band. It was one person passing it to the next, or one blogger in their bedroom posting it up. Suddenly, it went everywhere. That’s something I’ll always be proud of.
