On air interview
Seacrest interviews Hiam during On Air With Ryan Seacrest about listing to the single Pray To God on the radio.
We were like, Ok, we’re going to turn on the car and pray to God that Pray to God is going to be on KIIS FM. When I turned on my car and it was on, we all freaked out. We called Este, my mom was crying, my dad was throwing confetti in the air. It was a big moment in the Haim household…Growing up, the radio was it still is the most massive part of our lives because we’re always in our cars. I think people around the world, whenever they ask us, ‘What are you inspired by?’ We’re always like, ‘Los Angeles radio because that’s what we listened to growing up.

Danielle:
It started as a random demo of a couple different ideas and ended up forming the song later on.
If I Could Change Your Mind
Haim releases their fifth single If I Could Change Your Mind. The single is on their record Days Are Gone and is a collaboration with writer and producer James Ford. Alana and Danielle :
It started out as a jam. We were in the studio with James Ford and we were really deeply into the recording and the vibe for the record and we were kind of burnt out and we were just like “let’s write something new.”
Spin cover
Haim pose on the cover of Spin magazine. The band also gave Spin a full interview where they answered questions about their beginings, family and how they cope with fame. Alana:
I’ve always wanted to be a cool band. But I’ve tried to be a cool, aloof person, and it’s just not me. I couldn’t do it. I giggle at fart jokes. I trip all the time. I’m just not that person.
The Wire performance
Haim performs The Wire during Saturday Night Live to promote their album Days Are Gone.
Days Are Gone
The group releases their debut record, Days Are Gone. The record features 11 tracks that include the singles Forever and The Wire. The album is a collaboration between the band and producers James Ford, Ludwig Göransson and Ariel Rechtshaid.
Danielle Haim:
I think each song has its own story. I don’t think there was an overarching feeling for the record. I think the overarching theme was to make it sound like a band. But the feeling really does go from song to song.
The Wire
Alana:
We were so badly burned by (The Wire) that song. We recorded it five or six times before, and hated it. One little sound can make it so f-cking cheesy.
Forever performance
Haim performs Forever during The Late Show with David Letterman to promote their self-titled album.
Falling
Este on the bass lines in the song:
If I Could Change Your Mind was a challenge for me because it’s all fast 16th notes. Trying to make it funky without a pick was a little difficult. That and Falling are the two funkiest songs on the record. Writing those bass lines was really, really fun.
LVL
The group sings on the artist’s track, LVL. The track is featured on his album, LONG.LIVE.A$AP.
Danielle:
We sang at the very end. (All begin singing ‘All you need is love’) That story was crazy because we met A$AP at a festival like a year ago.
Don’t Save Me
The group releases their single, Don’t Save Me. The single is on their debut album, Days Are Gone. The song is a collaboration between the band and producer James Ford.
Alana and Danielle:
(The song) is kind of up to you what it’s about. We wrote it around the time we got signed. We spent so long trying to get signed … and when we finally did there was all of this pressure and it was kind of like well is it or is it not?
