Adler is honored posthumously with her own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for her work in the category of Live Performance. Former students including Melanie Griffith, Mark Ruffalo, and Benicio Del Toro speak on her behalf at the ceremony. Del Toro:
I owe way too much to Stella Adler. One of the things I owe her for is the seriousness and intensity to how she approached acting.
