Perry appears as a guest on Conan and talks about some difficult moments during his time off from Aerosmith, including selling his rare 1959 Les Paul, which ends up in the hands of his good friend, Slash.
I knew it was getting in the way of our friendship. I said “I will never ask you about it again, man. If you ever want to sell it back, just give me a call, whatever but I won’t bug you about it”. And at my 50th birthday, Cheap Trick was playing. They came in to play. And I sat in with them and in the middle of the set my guitar tech walks up and hands me this guitar. And it was the guitar and Slash gave it to me.

Seacrest interviews Tyler and Perry during On Air With Ryan Seacrest and questions them on their exercise routine for their tour. Tyler:
Actually we don’t hit our stride until the third week but the third week on tour, I’m 15 again. Now, I’m 12.
Perry:
No matter what you do beforehand, there’s nothing like going onstage. You always feel like you’ve been run over by a truck the next day, no matter what. I’ve tried it both ways: I’ll get in shape on tour or I’ll work out for a month [before]. I’ll tell you, it’s very athletic.
