keira-cover-_glamour_29sep14_pr_b_960x1440Knightley appears on the cover of the November issue of Glamour UK, and discusses her looks and turning 30.

I’m not actually worried about turning 30. Because, honestly, my early twenties were not much fun. Then after 25, things just got better and better. Maybe you stop caring as much about where you should be going and what other people think – which is all the shit that makes you very unhappy early on.

I didn’t know I was meeting him, and I was so jet-lagged I didn’t know what was going on. I was in jeans and had acne – you know the kind where nothing is going to cover it – so I put a hat on. I remember somebody making a [negative] comment about it and I just thought [whispers] ‘I’m wearing a hat because I’ve got acne.’

With a feel-good film you are always risking going way too cheesy….But maybe I can have a little holiday where I’m not playing a character who is being destroyed.

For a long time, I had trouble saying I was an actress, but today I can. I’m still just as stressed out when I start a film shoot, and I’m not happy with everything that I do—far from it. But with time and each new film, I continue to learn, unlearn and learn again, and therefore build who I am.

Flare cover

Knightley appears on the cover of the December 2012 issue of Flare magazine. She talks about Anna Karenina, playing Anna, and growing up in the public eye.

When I was very young, I was hounded by these hideous men. What they wanted was the picture of me falling out of the club. They weren’t going to get that out of me. No, I chose very, very deliberately not to, because I couldn’t bear the idea of giving in to them. It takes a stubbornness.

I’m quite rigorous about what gets exposed. No bottom half! I don’t mind exposing my tits because they’re so small—people really aren’t that interested!

Vogue cover

keira vogueKnightley appears on the October cover of Vogue. Knightley discusses her upcoming marriage and feminism.

I remember doing interviews, and people would ask, as if it was a joke, ‘So you mean you are a feminist?’ As though feminism couldn’t be discussed unless we were making fun of it. I don’t want to deny my femininity. But would I want to be a stay-at-home mother? No. On the other hand, you should be allowed to do that, as should men, without being sneered at.

keira-knightley-interviewKnightley appears on the cover of the April 2012 issue of Interview magazine. She talks about choosing roles and working with Steve Carrell in Seeking a Friend for the End of the World.

He has this amazing ability to be incredibly funny but have that pathos at the same time – sort of that crying-clown thing. The movie itself has comic moments, but it’s about the end of the world, so obviously it has an apocalyptic feel to it that’s not that comic, because everybody dies … Other than that, though, it’s hilarious.

[H]opefully, at the end of the year, I’m going to do a film with Joe Wright, who I did Pride and Prejudice and Atonement with, but given the financial climate, nothing is ever for certain, so I’m keeping my fingers crossed.
