It’s one of those things where you have to commit wholeheartedly or you’re going to make a fool of yourself.
Flare cover
Hale appears on the cover of the July 2014 issue of Flare magazine. She talks about country music, being on a reality show, and her dreams.
It’s very scary being open, being vulnerable, putting yourself out there at the risk of failing. The scariest part is working so, so hard for something and then it not paying off, but that almost doesn’t even matter to me anymore. Making the album was the best experience of my life.
Seventeen cover
Hale appears on the cover of the June/July issue of Seventeen. She talks about her country album.
My album is something I’m really, really, really proud of. I’ve intentionally been quiet about it because I want the music to speak for itself. People are either going to love it or hate it, but I think that once they hear it, they’ll be like, ‘Okay, she loves this and is serious about it.’ This is my pride and joy — it’s my baby! I worked my butt off on it.
Nylon cover
Hale appears on the cover of the January 2013 issue of Nylon magazine. She talks about her relationships and how about her country music album she is working on.
Every relationship I’ve had, I’ve learned something good and positive. I’m a woman, but I’m not fully the person that I think I will be. We’re all just trying to figure it out. Some of us just have to do it publicly.
Cosmopolitan cover
Hale appears on the cover of the September 2012 issue of Cosmopolitan. She discusses how she used to struggle with an eating disorder.
I’ve never really talked about this, but I would go days without eating. Or maybe I’d have some fruit and then go to the gym for three hours.
Seventeen cover
Hale appears on the cover of the June/July 2011 issue of Seventeen magazine. She talks about staying true to who she is and country music.
I love Lady Antebellum and Miranda Lambert, they write from the heart. But it’s hard to find a country music lover in LA. None of my friends really listen to it, and they hate getting in the car with me because I just blast Taylor Swift.
Teen Vogue cover
Hale appears on the cover of the February 2011 issue of Teen Vogue magazine. She talks about how she got started acting, Taylor Swift, and online shopping.
I’ve only been living here for a few years. I never thought about acting when I lived in Memphis actually, pretty much the opposite. I wanted to be a singer. Someone randomly suggested I audition for a few things. I thought, Why not? And I got a role on [Nickelodeon’s] Drake & Josh. It was literally just a sentence, but I was so excited to be an actress.
