Two passengers confirmed not aboard
Two passengers thought to be aboard Flight MH370 are confirmed to have not flown on the plane. Italian citizen Luigi Maraldi had his passport stolen in August 2013 and was used by someone else to board the plane. An Austrian man, whose name was not given, had his passport stolen sometime in 2012 and, like Maraldi’s, was used by someone else to board. Azharuddin Abdul Rahman, the head of Malaysia’s Civil Aviation Authority, later tells reporters that the missing identification may indicate the existence of a stolen passport syndicate.
