Johnny Trinh, the victim of Wahlberg’s assault in 1988, says he hopes Wahlberg gets his pardon from the Massachusetts Board of Pardons.

I would like to see him get a pardon. He should not have the crime hanging over him any longer. He paid for his crime when he went to prison. I am not saying that it did not hurt when he punched me in the face, but it was a long time ago. He has grown up now. I am sure he has his own family and is a responsible man.

Wahlberg plays Michael Stigman, an undercover agent along with Robert Trench (Denzel Washington) who find themselves on the run after a an attempt to infiltrate a drug cartel. This action drama is directed by Baltasar Kormákur. Co-starring Paula Patton, Bill Paxton, Fred Ward, James Marsden and Edward James Olmos.

I was attached to the movie first, and it was always about who is the other guy. It’s about the two guys, no matter what they’re doing. You look at ‘Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid,’ they’re running from something that you never really saw. But with these guys, it’s like usually they’ll take the comedy guy, and then the very straight guy and put them together. We didn’t want to do that. I felt like you had to have two really formidable opponents and to earn that camaraderie, to earn that trust in one another. And that was really the movie.

Wahlberg plays Billy Taggart, an ex-cop who seeks redemption and revenge after being double-crossed and framed by a powerful person, the Mayor Nicholas Hostetler (Russell Crowe). This crime drama is directed by Allen Hughes. Co-starring Catherine Zeta-Jones, Jeffrey Wright, Barry Pepper.

I remember in a particular scene in the alley, I punched that particular stuntman and his head hit the wall. Then I went to punch him again but he slipped and I punched the brick wall. My hand swelled up like a balloon! But you want to make it real – you’ve seen the slick editing and choreographed fights before. How about we just put the camera there and let it happen? No sound effects, nothing.

Wahlberg plays Leo Davidson, an Air Force astronaut, who crashes on a planet called Ashlar in the year 5021. There he discovers that the world is ruled by humanoid apes, who can speak and treat human beings as slaves. The film is directed by Tim Burton and co-stars Tim Roth, Helena Bonham Carter, Michael Clarke Duncan, Paul Giamatti and Estella Warren.

Acting with people in gorilla suits is not exactly something that turned me on but I had to keep reminding myself the reason why I was there. There were days that I started to panic. The first day I freaked out. There was this kid with tribal markings on his face, a guy in a gorilla suit and Helena. It all seemed pretty ridiculous.

In this supernatural drama directed by Peter Jackson, Wahlberg plays Jack, the father of  a murdered 14-year-old girl. He begins to obsessively research his neighbors to try to find out who killed her. Co-starring Rachel Weisz, Susan Sarandon, Stanley Tucci, Michael Imperioli and Saoirse Ronan.

My biggest reason for wanting to be a part of this was Peter Jackson. I’m a huge fan of Peter’s. Because of the way I approach work, I wasn’t all that thrilled about the subject matter because I have a beautiful little girl and two beautiful boys. I don’t have the God-given talent that Rachel has to just snap into it and have these floods of emotion coming out and then turn it all off. So I basically had to live in that headspace for the entire time. I just thought it would be a beautiful movie and it was too good to pass up the opportunity to be a part of it.
