Striker gives his thoughts about making the transition from a wrestler to an announcer:
It was circumstances, I believe it was Taz or Mick Foley that was leaving and WWE needed a commentator and it was probably number 12 on the list of things they had to handle that day, and it was Joey Styles that mentioned that I would be interested and thought I would be a good fit. The one thing about WWE is that they are all about opportunity, and they said let’s give the kid an opportunity, I put on the headsets in Atlanta and it just seemed to be a natural fit. I still brought my wrestling boots with me every single week, that is what I was taught and I still have them in my bag right now and I’m sure I’ll get some more use out of them now.
Striker talks to False Finish Radio about his time in WWE, future plans and Wrestling in America.
My time in WWE, Regal was a mentor and a friend and he had been one of my favorite wrestlers and he need up cooler then i ever thought he would be. The figure reminds me to be as much like regal as possible. He is such a gentleman and he is so humble yet so tough. It reminds me that you need to be a professional.
Striker is a guest on The Art of Wrestling to discuss WWE and his taste in music.
At a young age, I’d look to other kids my age and they all liked Hulk Hogan, all cheered for the Mets, all listened to Bon Jovi. So I said, “Am I supposed to like that? I don’t like that!” So I started looking around and saw Strange Earth and was like, “Oh, I like that… no one is listening to that!”
