Makes Statement0 Comments

McGregor responds to Tyson calling him a ‘dumbass,’ who is going to get knocked out by Mayweather, by referring to Tyson’s legal action against Don King. Tyson sued King for $100 million in stolen earnings, and received $14 million in an out-of-court settlement.

Tyson: McGregor ‘is going to get killed’ boxing Mayweather

Makes Statement0 Comments

Tyson says McGregor will not be able to beat Mayweather under boxing rules. Tyson said that if it were him in the fight with McGregor, he would allow the Irishman to use kicks and knees in the fight.

McGregor is going to get killed boxing. I got mad because I thought they were going to use MMA rules against boxing because that’s what it’s all about: Can the boxer beat the MMA guy? McConor put his dumb–s in a position where he’s gonna get knocked out because this guy’s been doing this all his life since he was a baby. McConor can’t kick and grab and stuff so he won’t stand much of a chance…McGregor took the biggest sucker rules in the history of boxing.

Tyson: Mayweather a ‘small, scared man’ for Muhammad Ali comparison

Makes Statement0 Comments

Tyson is not impressed by Mayweather’s suggestion that he compares to Ali.

He’s very delusional. Listen, if he was anywhere near that realm of great as Muhammad Ali, he’d be able to take his kids to school by himself. OK, he can’t take his kids to school by himself, and he’s talking about he’s great? Greatness is not guarding yourself from the people. It’s being accepted by the people. He can’t take his kids alone to school by himself. He’s a little scared man. He’s a very small, scared man.

Tyson: Conor McGregor will ‘look really ridiculous’ boxing Mayweather

Makes Statement0 Comments

While Tyson disagrees that the sanctity of boxing will be tarnished by McGregor fighting Mayweather, he says the UFC Champion will not win in boxing.

No, I don’t believe it can ruin boxing at all. Only way it can ruin boxing is if McGregor goes and boxes Floyd because he’s going to look really ridiculous boxing him. But if he goes in there with the UFC stuff, now this could be pretty interesting. [But] McGregor won’t win in a boxing match…People will pay for anything. If two people are fighting, people will pay for it.

Tyson: McGregor not skilled enough to beat Mayweather

Makes Statement0 Comments

Tyson says that Mayweather will beat McGregor in boxing.

No, it doesn’t give boxing a bad name. This is interesting. It only gives boxing a bad name because Conor is not skilled enough to box with Floyd. If he fought UFC in this and Floyd boxed, then that would be more exciting. Then, we would see how Floyd handles the kicks to the leg and all that stuff. But, that’s what boxing about. Conor’s not a boxer. You know, he got some amateur boxing skills, but he’s not a boxer. He needs to go in there fight his fight. Floyd need to fight his fight. If he’s doing this for money, he’s just ridiculous instead of just fighting his fight…Until I see the two of them in the ring. I don’t care if they signed it. Until I see the two of them in the ring and they’re getting ready to ring that bell, it’s not going to happen.

Tyson ‘more interested in talking about McGregor than boxing’

Makes Statement0 Comments

The journalist who interviewed Tyson for Sports illustrated says that Tyson is no longer interested in talking about boxing.

He has two children and he’s basically, exactly, the suburban daddy, wears his Dad jeans, takes his kids from tutoring to their tennis lessons. And he still works. He does these one-man shows but clearly being a Dad and being there to help his kids is really a big part of his life…I don’t think he’s proud of Mike Tyson the fighter. With the interview, we spent a few hours at his house and he was very gracious with his time. And if you wanted to talk about current events or the Olympics or Donald Trump, you name your topic and he would be great – except he wanted nothing to do with boxing. He doesn’t follow the sport anymore. He wasn’t particularly interested in reliving fights. His professional fighting career is of no interest to him. One thing I took away was that all of his bad memories somehow or other were related to boxing whether it was the end when he was losing fights that he never should have taken or whether it was the physical pain he inflicted on someone else or whether it was some of the criminal activity… basically every bad memory he has, came by way of boxing. [He’s] more interested in talking about Conor McGregor than he is with anything to do with boxing today.

Tyson: McGregor a ‘phenomenal’ personality

Tribute0 Comments

In an interview with Fighters Only, Tyson praises McGregor.

Conor is very charismatic. Jon Jones is bad, but deep down he’s a decent kind of person and very shy. Whereas this guy, Conor, he’s the man. He reminds me of the old-time boxers, one of those guys that’s just into everything. He walks into the room and everybody stands up. He sucks the air out of the room. He’s just a really interesting guy. He does things nobody else has been able to do too. He’s kind of like an animated character, one that’s real though. He’s a great fighter, but his personality is even bigger than his talent. Isn’t that crazy? He’s got this huge personality. Nobody in MMA has ever had a personality as big as his. Ronda [Rousey] is just like a monster—the things she would do—but this guy is different. His personality is phenomenal…It’s actually not even about the money, it’s the power. That’s what it’s all about. We never say it, but that’s what he wants: power. That’s why we put out lives on the brink of destruction, because we want to grasp that power. Nothing else matters. We almost want to give our lives up in pursuit of it. It’s worth dying and killing for.

Mike Tyson interview

Interview0 Comments

Hall interviews Tyson on The Arsenio Hall Show. They talk about how he received a call from Hall before he was incarcerated, sex in jail, and how proud he is was of Hall’s success in the 80’s.

We had a great time in the 80s that was just an era, they can’t even dream of that era. That was everything in your face back then. You think this man is big now he was unstoppable in the 80s…unstoppable.

Tyson gives an interview on The Arsenio Hall Show. They talk about his relationship with Don King and if his gameplan changes before he goes into the ring.

You have to let a man walk his walk if it’s something that he choose to do, let him go his way. Because if he failed, he knows that he failed doing his best.
