Kate Middleton pregnant

Pregnancy0 Comments

St James’s Palace has announced that Kate Middleton is pregnant. A spokesman said the duchess, who is thought to be less than 12 weeks pregnant, has been admitted to a London hospital with acute morning sickness and is likely to stay for several days.

Their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announce that the Duchess of Cambridge is expecting a baby. The Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh, the Prince of Wales, the Duchess of Cornwall and Prince Harry and members of both families are delighted with the news. As the pregnancy is in its very early stages, Her Royal Highness is expected to stay in hospital for several days and will require a period of rest thereafter

It said the duchess was suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum, which requires supplementary hydration and nutrients.

Sources said the couple are “incredibly happy but nervous.” In a statement on their website William and Catherine said they were “delighted with the news.”

Buckingham Palace was forced to make the announcement only after the Duchess was taken to hospital. Usually proclamations of royal births are posted on the gates at Buckingham Palace only after the 12th week of pregnancy. By contrast, Princess Diana’s first pregnancy was announced some six weeks after the queen had been informed, and after months of intense press speculation.
