Gives birth to daughter
TheĀ Duchess of Cambridge givesĀ birth to a girl weighingĀ 8lbs 3oz (3.7kg) atĀ 08:34 BST.Ā The Duke of Cambridge isĀ present for the birth.Ā The princess is fourth in line to the throne.
Family leave hospital
The royal baby, along with her parents, the Duke and Duchess of CambridgeĀ makes an appearance outside the hospitalĀ just a few hours after the birth. After showing their new princess to the crowd, they depart for Kensington Palace where the Dutchess will recuperateĀ for a few days before the family moves home.
Prince William born in London
Prince William Arthur Philip Louis Windsor is born weighingĀ 7lb 1Ā½oz. Ā The Prince is the first child of Prince Charles and Princess DianaĀ and hisĀ official title is “Prince William, Duke of Cambridge”.Ā His paternal grandparents areĀ Queen Elizabeth IIĀ andĀ Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. He is second inĀ lineĀ to succeed his grandmother, after his father.
Prince Charles is present at the birthĀ andĀ calls the Palace from St Mary’s Hospital Paddington, to tell his mother, who was said to be “absolutely delighted.” The Queen Mother, driving back to her home at Clarence House was “overjoyed.” The news was also flashed to Prince Andrew in the South Atlantic task force and to the rest of the Royal Family.
The crowd outside the hospital were chanting “Nice one Charlie, let’s have another one,” the Prince laughed and said:
Bloody hell, give us a chance.
