V Magazine cover
Gomez poses topless for the cover of V Magazine. Gomez discusses past relationships and learning from mistakes.
I think the next time will be much different…which will definitely not be any time soon. That’s a growing up kind of thing. I was 18 years old, and it was my first love. The older I get, I’m guarding certain things more. After being put through the scrutiny, I understand what it is. When you’re young and you’re being told so many different things…it almost felt like all we had was each other, like the world was against us, in a way. It was really weird but it was incredible. I would never take it back in a million years. You live and you learn, you know?
Seventeen cover
Gomez appears on the cover of the March 2014 issue of Seventeen magazine. She talks about feeling powerful, not changing for a guy, and her fans.
I don’t feel like I can do enough for my fans. I work a lot, I work hard, and I get tired. But when you walk onstage and see these people who wait hours outside just to see you, it’s the greatest thing in the world.
Teen Vogue cover
Gomez appears on the cover of the December 2013/January 2014 issue of Teen Vogue magazine. She talks about her family and how she is going to be going through a confusing time in her life.
I’m pretty lucky. That’s for sure. I mean, we’re typical Gilmore girls: Half the time she’ll annoy me, and half the time I’ll annoy her.

Gomez appears on the cover of the Pre-Fall 2013 issue of I-D magazine. She talks about getting her start as a kid, a Britney Spears concert as a child, and her photoshoot.
It’s so easy to wear incredible, beautiful dresses and look super glamorous, because you have the power of Photoshop, but a shoot that’s really stripped-down and raw is really fun to do. I was being rained on, it was freezing, I was covered in a giant sweater and my hair was all over the place. I got to just be in that moment and feel like I was there.
In Style cover
Gomez appears on the cover of the June 2013 issue of In Style magazine. She talks about pushing boundaries, writing a song about Justin Bieber, and dating in the spotlight.
It’s uncomfortable that everywhere I go, people know. I don’t like that. But Justin and I never really focused on the attention. You can’t help who you date. So I wouldn’t swear off that or say that’s what I want again. I don’t know. I’m a kid, and a breakup is normal. I have to go through the emotions and feel it out. I’m doing my own thing, being with my friends, and he’s doing very well too.
Harper’s Bazaar cover
Gomez appears on the cover of the April 2013 issue of Harper’s Bazaar magazine. She talks about love being normal, believing in love, and her style.
I do not give a damn what I look like, I don’t. I wish I could pay attention because Gwen Stefani, say, looks flawless. Of course, when I’m on red carpets, I’m nervous, sweaty, and weird.
Nylon cover
Gomez appears on the cover of the February 2013 issue of Nylon magazine. She talks about never having a spring break, Justin Bieber, and Taylor Swift.
We both experienced the same things at the same time. But we’ve never once talked about our industry. She just became the person I’d go to for an issue with my family or boyfriend. It’s so hard to trust girls, so I’m lucky to have her.

Gomez appears on the cover of the September 2012 issue of Teen Vogue magazine. She talks about acting in Monte Carlo, reading the script for Spring Breakers, and breaking out of Disney.
It’s frustrating whenever I want the roles that no one’s even thinking about me for, and being like, ‘No,’ with all these other ones. Being part of the Disney Channel was such a blessing, and I’m super happy with what my show accomplished, but acting is something I would like to take on more seriously. I don’t necessarily feel accomplished. I want to create a whole different persona when it comes to acting.
Cosmopolitan cover
Gomez appears on the cover of the March 2012 issue of Cosmopolitan magazine. She talks about her relationship with Justin Bieber.
I’m just like every 19-year-old girl. If you’re in love, you’re in love to the fullest, and you just want to go to the movies, hang out, and be as normal as possible. I’m fortunate that I’ve found someone who has that philosophy.
Teen Vogue cover
Gomez appears on the cover of the June/July 2011 issue of Teen Vogue magazine. She talks about her fans, wanting to be in love, and not being with Disney anymore.
It’s like starting over. I was trying to explain it to one of my friends, and he said, ‘You’ll be fine. People believe in you.’ But when they’re putting together a movie with Leonardo DiCaprio, I don’t think they’re going to go, ‘Selena Gomez would be great for this!’ I’m not an option. It’s humbling, having to go from this Disney high back down to having to fight for roles.
Seventeen cover
Gomez appears on the cover of the September 2009 issue of Seventeen magazine. She talks about her relationship with Taylor Lautner.
He is so sweet. Taylor has made me so happy. I did’nt know I could be that happy. You probably see it in the pictures! I’m smiling so big. He’s a great guy. But I am 100 percent single, and I’m going to keep it that way for a while.
People cover
Gomez and Lovato appear on the cover of People to discuss their who takes longer to get ready, their favorite TV shows, and what they do when they hang out. On their worst habits:
For breakfast, I’ll eat cereal or fruit, like a really healthy breakfast, and she wakes up and she’s got like Doritos with nacho cheese. I can’t eat a breakfast like that.
Teen Vogue cover
Gomez appears on the cover of the June/July 2009 issue of Teen Vogue magazine. She talks about what she’s looking for in a guy and how she is a realist.
I used to say that I wanted someone cute and nice, an actor too, so he’d get it. But now I think it would be good for me to date someone who’s not in the business. I want someone honest, someone who’s very sweet to my family and friends, and polite to the other people around me. Being cool, having a ‘cool’ energy, is just not attractive to me… I want what I deny. I want someone who is crazy about me, who treats me like a princess. I want the picture-perfect fairy-tale stuff.
Latina cover
Gomez appears on the cover of the April 2009 issue of Latina magazine. She talks about Britney Spears, being proud to be Latino, and her feud with Miley Cyrus.
I think Miley can agree with me. There are so many more things going on that are so much more important to us in our lives than wasting time on that stuff.
