Cruise plays Mitch McDeer in a film adaptation of John Grisham’s novel, The Firm, directed by Sydney Pollack. Mitch accepts a once in a lifetime opportunity at a law agency called The Firm. Soon, he is approached by the FBI, who have connected the agency to the mob. Mitch cooperates with the FBI, while maintaining his position at The Firm. Co-starring Jeanne Tripplehorn and Gene Hackman.
