We want to win a championship and that’s the goal. You can have a great regular season but the most important thing is what you do in the playoffs.
We came out and had good juice. We had a great second quarter and really got out running and got some stops.
They were just better than us. They just outplayed us and there’s no shame in that for our group.
Jazz 109-92 Mavericks
The Jazz win 109-92. Cotton scores 21 points, Gobert scores a double-double (20 points, 17 rebounds, three blocks and three assists and a steal). For the Mavericks Barea scores 18 points, Villanueva scores 15 points and Stoudmire scores 14 points. Coach Synder on Jazz’s performance:
When you’ve got a group of guys that works as hard and is as committed as our group has been. It’s nice to see some of those guys get an opportunity to play. We did have a chance in these last two games to actually see those young men and give them a chance to play. When players play hard, it’s easy to play them.
Opportunities like this don’t come along too often. And I wanted to go out there and make the most of this opportunity.
In the end we gave up too many rebounds and we had too many turnovers. Those were all possession plays and that stuff all added up and it hurt us.
Suns 87-85 Jazz
The Suns win 87-85. Green scores 24 points, Bledsoe scores 16 points. Hayward scores 21 points, Gobert has 15 rebounds for the Jazz. Bledsoe on Green’s performance:

We needed the shooting, and that’s what Gerald provided.
Gordon … he was having a rough night, but he really picked his game up and started going to the rim.
We’re an undersized team but we fought back. We’ll see what happens these last five games and finish up strong.
Mourning Hundley’s death, Miller gives this statement:
Hot Rod was the voice of the Utah Jazz for 35 years and his voice was synonymous with Jazz radio. The expressions he used throughout the game broadcasts are legendary. He had the unique ability to make the game come to life so that you felt as though you could see what was happening on the floor when listening to him call the games…Rod was a very special talent and will be missed by our family as well as Jazz fans everywhere. Our thoughts and condolences are with the Hundley family.
Knicks 99-88 Jazz
Lin starts his first game in his NBA career. He scores a career-high 28 points along with 8 assists to lead the Knicks to victory, despite missing their two all-stars Carmelo Anthony and Amare Stoudemire. Lin:
Basketball’s so fun when you play on a team where people want to work together and work through tough times and overcome them and have victories like this. This one was ugly and we lost a couple of players, but this team has a lot of will.
