2 Too Many audition
Every day Carter walks to Delaware Avenue, to the studio of DJ Jazzy Jeff (Townes) and the Fresh Prince (Smith). One day, a friend who is recording in the studio lets him in. Townes, Smith and Lassiter, Smith’s business partner are in the lounge. Carter:
We literally just walked into the room and said we want to play some music for you. Will told us to go ahead and pop the tape in. [The room was too small for our routine] so everyone went outside and we danced in the snow…They just fell in love with us. We pretty much sucked as a group. They loved us and our tenacity more than anything else.
Lassiter:
Every night someone was down there trying to get put on. It was something about these three kids and their personality and sense of humor that we responded to. I don’t remember if we thought they were talented or not. They just didn’t give up…We would just laugh at them. I remember plenty of times driving them home. I would say, ‘How are you getting home?’ They hadn’t thought it through. They didn’t have gloves. They didn’t have a Plan B.
Lassiter and Smith give 2 Too Many a record deal on their WilJam label.

Yeah, but the president sitting and gracefully fielding bizarre questions from intellectually barren inquisitors who talked to him as if he were Joe off the street? ‘Hey, man, that’s the president. Rephrase your f-cking question.’ The president should be exempt from having to answer questions from some dickhead prosecutor about a cigar.

Oscar is a small but ambitious fish who dreams of making something of himself, and when a dropped anchor accidentally kills Frankie, Oscar is suddenly celebrated as “the shark killer.” Oscar’s overnight fame attracts the attentions of Lola, a slinky dragon fish who woos Oscar away from his steady date.
I did about six months of aqua marine studies. I had a fish that I used as a model and I followed him around for a while and met his family and everything. There’s a real depth to the fish lifestyle that I studied.

Absolutely. Love is the ultimate theme, but it’s not just for women. I think it’s also for men – it’s the highest desire to which we all aspire. We all want to be in love and find that person who is going to love us no matter how our feet smell, no matter how angry we get one day, no matter the things we say that we don’t mean. We just want that person who is going to love us in spite of all those things.

0 CommentsWill Smith stars as Chris Gardner, a down-on-his-luck father who accepts an unpaid intern position at a prestigious stock brokerage firm in hopes of giving his son a better life. Despite having to spend nights in a homeless shelter with his five-year-old son (played by Smith’s son Jaden), Chris never falters in his determination to do everything in his power to make sure his son knows how much he’s loved. With Thandie Newton.
When I saw that 20/20 piece, ‘Chris Gardner walks through and retraces the steps’. There is a segment where he goes into the actual bathroom that he slept in with his son. I was like, ‘I’m making that movie.’ Then eventually I met with Chris. He was actually writing the book while we were shooting the movie. He would be on the set three, four days a week and every week he’d give me 10 pages, just run me through some of the ideas.
The Pursuit of Happyness
In the biopic drama directed by Gabriele Muccino, Smith plays Chris Gardner, a poverty stricken salesman who has custody of his son. Living on the streets and eating from soup kitchens, he gets the opportunity to be an intern as a stockbroker, eventually gaining the position with the company and becoming a millionaire. Costars Thandie Newton and Jaden Smith. Smith on Gardner:
We looked in one anothers eyes. I said, ‘I’m going to learn your story and I’m going to tell your story.’
