Viletta wins the Olympic gold medal in the Men’s Alpine Skiing: Combined event. The Swiss puts in a combined time of 2:45.20 minutes, which is enough to beat out silver medalist Ivica Kostelić of Croatia by 0.34 seconds.

I didn’t expect to win. I knew that I could ski fast. I like the snow and this was my chance.

It’s cool to win a bronze, but when you know you can do more, at the beginning I think it’s normal to be a bit disappointed.

I’m sure glad I’m going to share this gold with Tina. She’s such a great woman and one of the greatest athletes of our sport.

I was really lucky in my last shooting. So many guys were missing so I could go into third place.

Innerhofer wins the Olympic bronze medal in the Men’s Alpine Skiing: Combined event. The Italian puts in a combined time of 2:45.67 minutes, and is happy to have a place on the podium. He celebrates with silver medalist Ivica Kostelić and gold medalist Sandro Viletta.

At the start gate, I nearly decided not to bother because the downhill went so well for a lot of the slalom specialists. I can’t believe it, this is crazy.

I’m not one of those skiers who can win the overall or the discipline title. With my health condition that wouldn’t be realistic. So I go race by race and today I had my best run of the season
