Gore, Trump, Ivanka meet for climate talks
Gore meets with Trump and Ivanka to discuss climate change at Trump Tower. Ivanka reportedly wants to make climate change her signature issue. Gore:
I had a lengthy and very productive session with the President-elect. It was a sincere search for areas of common ground. I had a meeting beforehand with Ivanka Trump. The bulk of the time was with the President-elect, Donald Trump. I found it an extremely interesting conversation, and to be continued, and I’m just going to leave it at that.
‘We need to put a price on denial in politics’
Gore gives a speech at SXSW, calling on attendees to punish climate-change deniers. He says politicians should pay a price for rejecting ‘accepted science.’ Gore also says that smart investors are transitioning towards companies investing in alternative energy.
We need to put a price on carbon to accelerate these market trends. And in order to do that, we need to put a price on denial in politics.
