Hall is nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama at the 61st Primetime Emmy Awards for portraying Dexter Morgan on Dexter.

Well, I think all bets would be off if he wasn’t killing by the code and killing deserving parties. Also, the way the show is structured, the audience isn’t a regular observer but in Dexter’s head and a part of that trauma, which adds to the appeal of the character. Another thing that keeps that appeal is that I don’t want it to be ‘who does he kill this week?’ He has to develop, as do his relationships, and I think an example of that is when these relationships are threatened, he is forced to protect them not because of the code he is following but because he has a stake in these relationships now.

Baker is nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama at the 61st Primetime Emmy Awards for portraying Patrick Jane on The Mentalist.

It’s a pretty tough category, and obviously, I didn’t expect it. The sun has shone on me today. It’s weird. I didn’t jump up and down with excitement when I heard, but I have a more internal explosion going on inside of me. All I can really think is that I’m incredibly lucky.

Cranston is nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama at the 61st Primetime Emmy Awards for portraying Walter White on Breaking Bad.

We’re still the tiny show that’s chugging up the hill, so the great thing about this kind of recognition — five nominations — is that if the name Breaking Bad gets out there enough, it’ll stimulate some people, hopefully many, into giving us a try.

Parsons is nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy at the 61st Primetime Emmy Awards for portraying Dr. Sheldon Cooper on The Big Bang Theory.

I’m beyond excited. I don’t know what the last thing was where I felt like this, but I was a child, I promise you. Where it feels like it’s kind of a dream and it’s not really happening and a touch of Christmas present opening, too. It’s really weird! And wonderful, but it’s really weird! It’s just insane. I feel so immature!

I’m thrilled for everyone connected to the show, but I’m especially excited for Jane, Jack, and Tracy Morgan. It’s great working with the entire group, and I’m grateful for the recognition of our work.

Diaz is presented with her own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for her work in the category of Motion Pictures. Friends Nick Cassavetes, Robin, Antin, Tom Cruise, and Cameron Crowe attend the event in support of Diaz.

It was what has given me the strength and courage to live this extraordinary life and it is what powers the light that burns inside of me, bright enough for me to be honored today with this star on the Walk of Fame. It will be cool to be under people’s feet. It really is the place where people can understand exactly that actors are not really stars – they don’t exist in the sky, they exist on the ground just like everybody else.

Sedgwick is presented with her own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for her work in the category of Television. Castmate G.W. Bailey and producer Lee Daniels serve as guest speakers at the ceremony.

The need to walk around in other’s shoes and convey the truth of other humans runs deep into the heart of me, a desire I doubt will ever be snuffed out. So honored to be among the actors on Hollywood Blvd., but memorable performances are never made alone.

We are all mixed together and that has to be reflected in cinema. I’m happy that finally that door seems to be more open and not just to me and three other people, but to a much bigger group.
