Bail denied
A district court orders Guzman to be held without bail in a maximum security prison 35 miles west of Mexico City on charges of possession of cocaine and illegal weapons.
$25 million bail set
Judge Ronald S. Coen sets the rapper’s bail at $25 million. Prosecutors had argued that the bail should be set at $25 million because of Knight’s past criminal record, citing police reports showing past links to robberies, assaults and battery. After hearing this, Knight collapses and is taken to the hospital.
Weapons charge bond set at $1m
Appearing on video link, Judge Gosnell sets Roof’s bail at $1 million for the weapon-possession charge. A superior court judge must set bail for the murder charges.
Relatives of the shooting victims also speak at the hearing, with the daughter of victim Ethel Lance sobbing as she says, “I forgive you.” The mother of Tywanza Sanders tells Roof that “every fiber in my body hurts.” “Their legacies will live in love, so hate won’t win,” says Alana Simmons, the granddaughter of Rev. Daniel Simmons.
Released on $1 million bond
Tensing pleads not guilty in court and is released on bond. Judge Shanahan set;s Tensing’s bond at $1 million. Tensing has his head bowed, eyes closed and does not look at anyone in the court. Tensing’s father and other family members are in the courtroom during the arraignment. When Shanahan sets the high bond, applause breaks out in the courtroom, and she admonishes the attendees. Tensing’s lawyer says he would do his best to raise the money to get his client out of jail and Tensing leaves the Hamilton County jail eight hours later after spending the night behind bars.
$1 million bond
Chambers is held on a $1 million bond on suspicion of second-degree murder and driving under the influence. She hasn’t been formally charged with the four second-degree murder counts. A prosecutor says that she “intentionally drove her car into a crowd” and that she is was a “flight risk” because she faces the possibility of four life terms. According to a probable cause affidavit Chambers told investigators she had a history of suicide attempts and was suicidal at the time of the event. Chamber’s father says there’s “no way” he would be able to post her $1 million bond.
Released on bail
McGregor and Cowley appear in court, where they are charged with assault and criminal mischief. McGregor is released under $50,000 bail. He will be allowed to fly home to Ireland after the authorities decided not to seize his passport. He will return to New York on June 14 for his next court hearing, along with Cowley.
