Signs five-year, $70m deal
The Jets sign Revis to a five-year deal worth $70 million. The money is guaranteed during the first two years: $16 million and $17 million, respectively. In 2017, $6 million of Revis’s $17 million salary is guaranteed. The deal came about after the Patriots declined to exercise Revis’s $20 million option for 2015.
I want to thank the Pats and Pats Nation for an unbelievable year. NEW YORK I’m coming home.
Trade
The Eagles trade Foles to the Rams in exchange for Bradford. From the Eagles, the Rams also get a couple of draft picks: a 2015 fourth-round pick and a 2016 second-round pick. The Eagles receive St. Louis’s 2015 fifth-round draft pick. Depending on how much Bradford plays, the Eagles may also pick up a conditional 2016 pick: if Bradford plays less than fifty percent, the Eagles will get a fourth-round pick; if he does not play at all, it becomes a third-rounder; if Bradford takes more than fifty percent of snaps, the Eagles will not receive the pick.
Trade
The Texans trade Fitzpatrick to the Jets for a conditional seventh-round draft pick that can become a sixth-round pick depending on how much playing time Fitzpatrick gets with the Jets.

Signs two-year deal

Trade
The Bears agree to trade Marshall to the Jets in exchange for a fifth-round draft pick. The trade relies on Marshall passing a physical. By trading Marshall, the Bears save $7.7 million in cash, and they give themselves $3.95 million in cap space. However, $5.625 million counts against the Bears’s 2015 salary cap.
Won’t be re-signed
After 14 seasons, the Colts are parting ways with Wayne.
Reggie is one of the greatest men to ever wear the horseshoe, and we have been blessed to watch him play for the past 14 years. When he first took the field with us in 2001, we knew this day would eventually arrive. That reality is one of the things that makes pro football such a tough business.
We feel this decision is in the best interests of the team and for Reggie as it will allow him to seek a better opportunity for playing time elsewhere if he so chooses. Reggie is beloved by the Colts organization and our fans and he will always be a part of the Colts family. I look forward to the day in the near future when our great number 87 enters the Colts Ring of Honor and the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Out for season
Matthews tears his left Achilles tendon. He will miss the rest of the NBA season.
I’ve made that same cut hundreds of thousands of times in my life. I felt the initial pop, and I think you guys could tell on the replay, I looked back, and it feels like someone kicked you. I was praying that someone was back there. No one was back there, and I heard Ron [Garretson], the ref, he actually says, ‘Oh no’ like he knew…I’m frustrated, man. I’m frustrated. They say everything happens for a reason, and I was thinking it, too. But what was the reason? I can’t find it right now.
Out six to eight weeks
After breaking his left forearm, Pence is out six to eight weeks. He was hit on the left arm by a pitch in a spring training game. X-rays show he suffered a nondisplaced fracture of his left ulna.
All the love and support is making me feel better already. Thank You 🙂

The rest of the NFC East are elated that the Eagles traded @CutonDime25. #Wow #ReallyPhilly

Signs deal
The Cowboys sign Beasley to a four-year deal worth around $14 million. $7 million is guaranteed. The Cowboys could have used the second-round tender on Beasley, but they decided to sign him to a multiyear deal in order to keep the salary-cap numbers lower over the next two seasons. Dez Bryant, Beasley’s teammate on the Cowboys:
Congrats to my boy @Bease11 #beast #truth

Starting CB released
The Eagles release Williams. He spent two seasons with the team. By releasing him, the Eagles open up $6.5 million in salary-cap space, but they must still allocate $1.67 million towards the cap.
They wanted to go in a new direction. That was fine with me. I’m not disappointed in anything that went on in Philadelphia. I enjoyed my time there. I enjoyed the fans, and I enjoyed my teammates.
Fired
The Nuggets fire Shaw after less than two years with the team. The Nuggets have lost six games in a row and have compiled a 20-39 record this season under Shaw. General manager Brian Connelly:
I want to sincerely thank Brian for his time with our organization. You won’t find a better guy than Brian and he is one of the brightest basketball minds I’ve ever been around. Unfortunately things didn’t go as we hoped, but we know with his basketball acumen that he has a very bright future ahead of him.
Released
The Dolphins release Finnegan, saving the team more than $5 million in salary-cap room. Finnegan would have made $5.475 million through the 2015 NFL season.
Waived
After the team’s recent loss, The 76ers waive McGee, making him eligible to appear in the playoffs this season with another team. McGee was able to secure his release from the Sixers without giving up any part of his salary for this season or next season.

Butler is expected to miss three to six weeks with a sprained left elbow. The injury occurred when he collided with DeAndre Jordan in an NBA regular-season game. Butler was diagnosed with a Grade 2/3 ulnar ligament sprain and a small bone impaction injury after undergoing an MRI. He doesn’t need surgery.
Retains title
Rousey retains her bantamweight title after defeating Cat Zingano by armbar submission in fourteen seconds at UFC 148.
I was thinking that Cat might try and come and jump in on me right away because so many people were telling her that she was a slow starter and I’ve seen her try to do flying knees in the beginning. Because no one’s ever charged me before so they might think that might work. And the armbar, where it was behind the arm, I was practicing that completely facing a different direction but I’m glad I could adapt in a really weird scramble like that.
