Privacy investigation

The European Union is investigating the transfer of data from European Facebook users to advertisers in the United States. If found against, Facebook could face fines and be forced to change their privacy settings. French data protection regulator:

Obviously, there are privacy issues, this investigation is only to determine the extent.

Lots of people aren’t to happy about those “meddlesome” EU people who want to attack Google for taking aim at the free market. Free? Well, yes, it appears that Google gives out a lot of things free. Not really. They are missing the fact that all of these “free” things draw people into spending more time on the net busily clicking – so that Google can
enhance their main source of revenue.

A careful read of the article shows how they are using their power to manipulate Google Search to crowd out their competitors.

In other words, the EU is trying to PRESERVE a free market search engine.
That was the original purpose of our own anti-monopoly law introduced by Teddy Roosevelt. The “free” stuff you get isn’t so free after all – it’s AGAINST the free market.
