Justin Bieber interview
0 CommentsDetails interviews Bieber about female fans flashing him their bras.
I mean, I don’t mind it. Just kidding it’s not something that’s cool for them to do. There was this one girl in Seattle I didn’t even see her she runs at me, tries to give me a hug and tackles me. It was really aggressive and scary.

Mall skirmish
A Bieber event at a Roosevelt Field Mall in Garden City, NY, ends with five people sent to the hospital for minor injuries and one arrest after fans become unruly. James Roppo of Island/Def Jam Records is charged with “endangering the welfare of children and obstructing governmental administration” for not sending a Twitter message asking the 3000 fans to leave. Bieber’s team cancels the event and he posts a Twitter message to fans, saying that the police would not allow him access to the mall, and they had threatened to arrest him if the singer did not leave. Island Records apologizes in a written statement.

Signs to Island/Def Jam Records
After an audition with Usher, Bieber signs a recording contract with Island/Def Jam Records chairman L.A. Reid.
Usher called and said I have something really special for you. I have a gift for you. He brought Justin in. Justin had a guitar, he payed piano, he sang for me. I thought he was amazing. It was a no-brainer.
Reid later says that if he had known that Bieber had been rejected by other record companies first, he wouldn’t have signed him.
Scooter Braun discovers
In the early months of 2008 Scooter Braun discovers Justin Bieber on Youtube and flies to Canada to solicit him as his client. Braun explains that after seeing the young singer perform he had “become completely obsessed with tracking him down”:
…I heard the tone in his voice and I saw some instrumentation and it was just raw talent. And my gut just went crazy. It wasn’t anything that I necessarily saw. It was a feeling I had when I was watching. This is it. This is what I had been looking for.
Braun signs the young singer to the Raymond Braun Media Group.
