On Air interview

Interview0 Comments

Seacrest interviews Bacon during On Air with Ryan Seacrest about his television series The Following.

Joe Carol (James Purefoy) is on death row, and the question for this season because there are some new threats is whether or not he is actually orchestrating this in some kind of a way, or maybe it’s just the tip of the iceberg. And there is a bigger or scarier presence than even him…About mid-way through the season, we got a fantastic actor Michael Ealy who comes on and does a really, really great job. He’s a new big bad and he is very, very different than Joe a very different kind of presence, but just equally as scarier. There’s a lot of really interesting killers this year. It is a frightening show and that’s what people want and expect from the show, and we’re definitely going to deliver that this year. I think there are things this year that are scarier than anything we’ve done.

Esquire interview

Bacon talks about appearing in the movie Animal House:

Animal House was my first movie, so I didn’t have anything to compare it to. I was a sight gag more than anything else. So I can’t say it was one of those things where your life changes. When the movie came out, I had to ask for the night off at the bar. And I remember having a horrible time because nobody was recognizing me, and I went back to the bar to hang out for the rest of the night.

Bacon discusses his career and his move to television with the Fox series, The Following, in this interview for PBS. On different mediums:

The whole industry is changing because so many people watch things on DVR and they watch things on other platforms, and I think everybody is kind of scratching their heads about how this is going to play out. But I don’t feel all that different being on a network show. Plus I’ve never been on a cable show, so I don’t know.

Elle Magazine interview

Bacon gives interview to Elle about the naked gay party scene in the film JFK with Tommy Lee Jones.

That was my first day. Oliver Stone introduces me to a boy who’s dressed like a Nubian slave and says, Maybe you guys could just be kissing? And I was like, Dude, I don’t even know this kid. I don’t think so. Luckily, there was porn playing in the background on an eight-millimeter projector, so I said, How would you feel about me just watching that and playing with myself? And he said, Oh, that’s good. No, that’s better.

Bacon is nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Miniseries or Movie at the 61st Primetime Emmy Awards for portraying Lt. Colonel Michael Strobl on Taking Chance.

It’s a happy house today and I guess it’s a lot better than the alternative if neither one of us were nominated or just one. Thank God Kyra and I aren’t in the same category…
