Wins Oscar

Scorsese wins the Academy Award for Best Achievement in Directing for the crime drama The Departed. Steven Spielberg, George Lucas, and Francis Ford Coppola present the award.

Could you double-check the envelope? Thank you. I mean, I’m overwhelmed with this honor with the Academy and also the honor of being presented by my old, old friends.

Oscars iPad ad

The Company releases their Oscars iPad ad, featuring kids from Los Angeles County High School of the Arts making various films using only iPads. The ad has a voiceover of Scorcese’s commencement speech to the NYU Tisch School of the Arts in 2014.

It’s the same for all you, all of us. Every step is a first step. Every brush stroke is a test. Every scene is a lesson. Every shot is a school. So let the learning continue.
