I loved the dinner scenes. I loved the scenes around the table because I just found them…there’s humor in them as well. I actually don’t think that Evie’s evil. I felt like she’s misunderstood. I felt like she’s just starved for love and she’s got a child that she doesn’t connect with.
Kidman is nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Miniseries or Movie at the 64th Primetime Emmy Awards for portraying Martha Gellhorn on Hemingway & Gellhorn.

And Virginia Woolf gave me the gift of being able to play her at a time when I was depressed and in an emotional struggle. I used her knowledge. In the same way that life feeds art, art feeds life.

I remember Halloweening when I was about three, with my parents when we lived in Washington, D.C. And then I remember eating snow when I was about three as well — wanting to taste it and being told I wasn’t allowed to but still secretly doing it. Isn’t that crazy?
