Stoker

Kidman plays Evie Stoker in this mystery thriller directed by Chan-Wook Park.  Stoker’s husband is killed and his brother Charlie comes to live in the Stoker home.  Charlie pays Evie inappropriate amounts of attention, and she welcomes it.  But Charlie is really playing her to get close to her daughter India. Also starring Matthew Goode and Mia Wasikowska.

I loved the dinner scenes.  I loved the scenes around the table because I just found them…there’s humor in them as well.  I actually don’t think that Evie’s evil. I felt like she’s misunderstood.  I felt like she’s just starved for love and she’s got a child that she doesn’t connect with.
