And it’s also a step for me knowing like, “Ok, this is what I’m about to say, and I need to say it when I’m ready” … And I think after this year, it’s the perfect way to end the year, it’s the perfect way to end a chapter in a way. It’s like, this is what I’ll say about every single person that has judged me for every decision that I’ve made, for every person, (and) heart that is being judge for something they’ve done, and now I just want to release it.

Gomez sounds off about her adult critics in an interview with E! News while promoting her film Rudderless.

I get picked on by grown adults all the time. It’s grown-ups and I don’t get it. It just baffles me. I wish I could just sit them down and say, ‘What were you doing at 15? What were you doing at 18? What were you doing at 21?’ Because I can guarantee you it’s not half of what I’ve done. Trust me, it’s hard. I’ve had my moments where I’ve let them get to me, but I refuse to let them win.

Charged with dangerous driving, assault

Beiber is charged with dangerous driving and assault following an accident between a mini van and an ATV, allegedly driven by Beiber. Beiber and Gomez are allegedly passengers in the ATV that collided with a mini van near Beiber’s home in Perth County, Ontario. Police report that after the collision Beiber and the driver of the mini van “engaged in a physical altercation.” A spokesman for Perth County OPP says Bieber went to the police office and was arrested, and he was then released on a promise to appear in a Stratford court at the end of the month.

Gomez secretly spends two weeks in an Arizona rehab. Gomez’s rep says in a news statement that Selena voluntarily spent time at Meadows, but not for substance abuse. Instead Gomez says she needed a break from her busy schedule to focus on herself.

My fans are so important to me and I would never want to disappoint them. But it has become clear to me and those close to me that after many years of putting my work first, I need to spend some time on myself in order to be the best person I can be.
