Says Pope will be assasinated
In an interview with New York Daily News, Sarandon says she is worried that Pope Francis will be assassinated while on his U.S. visit.
I think they’re going to assassinate him. I think he’s done some major, major cleansing of the whole system…I love this Pope. He’s humble . . . he doesn’t live in the palatial whatever. I think he’s a Pope of the people.
She also talks about Donald Trump:
I think people are really starved for something authentic and even though he has no idea specifically what he’s talking about. He speaks to the guy who wishes he could say, ‘Everything’s a mess, we’re tired of the machine, we’re tired of politics as usual.’ . … I think it’s great that the Republicans have to figure out how to deal with him, it’s interesting.
And says she supports Bernie Sanders, and says she does not like it when people dismiss him:
Everybody said that about Obama. It’s like, the laziest way to do politics as usual. To just say, ‘Oh, well, he can’t get elected’. I think at least he’ll make some very unexpected dialogue in the debates.

For sure, as soon as Susan Sarandon got involved, we realized that this was going to be a movie that was going to happen, cause once you get a piece of casting like that in place, the pieces start to fall together.

The Company You Keep
Kendrick has a minor role as Diana in this thriller and political fiction, directed and produced by Robert Redford. Redford also stars in the film as Ben, Diana’s ex-boyfriend. This film is based on the book by the same name, about former members of the Weather Underground who plot to blow up buildings in United States cities. Co-starring Julie Christie and Susan Sarandon.
…it feels so silly to pontificate on that role; I’m in the movie for like thirty seconds — but my feeling was certainly that this is someone who is ambitious. But someone who thinks of herself as having her heart in the same place as the kids in the Weather Underground probably thought their hearts were. You know, actually trying to make a difference. I think she thinks these are bad people. I’m going to catch bad people.

The Big Wedding
Sarandon plays Bebe, Don’s girlfriend and Ellie’s former best friend, in this comedy directed by Justin Zackham. Don and Ellie, long divorced, have three children, one of whom was adopted from Colombia. After he is engaged, he informs Don and Ellie that his birth mother doesn’t know and wouldn’t approve of their divorce. They agree to pretend to still be married to appease her when she comes for the wedding. Co-starring Diane Keaton, Robert De Niro, Katherine Heigl, Amanda Seyfried, Topher Grace and Robin Williams.
My daughter Eva got married a few months after we finished filming. Thank God it wasn’t anything like the film! If anything, this movie teaches you what not to do at a wedding.
