Nude scene permit denied
Local officials in Croatia reportedly deny Thrones producers from filming a nude scene at the Church of St. Nicholas. The crew applied to the local film commission to shoot a scene where Headey’s character walks out of the church and onto the streets of “King’s Landing” naked. However, local church officials are opposed to public displays of sexuality, leaving the show’s producers to look for an alternative. Sources say the scene can not be cut because it is crucial to the plot and is an iconic moment from the book.

The actress is under investigation by British immigration officials after receiving complaints that she employed an American housekeeper while living in the United Kingdom. Watson reportedly traveled to the UK with her US housekeeper who continued to work for her. The housekeeper, who was hired in New York in early 2013, possessed a tourist visa which strictly prohibits visitors in the UK from working. Watson could face up to $17,000 if fines if found guilty. The actress’s rep has yet to respond to requests for comment.

HBO defends adult content
At the Guardian Edinburgh International Television Festival, HBO’s president of programming, Michael Lombardo, defends scenes of sex, violence, and rape in Thrones:
I personally don’t see myself as a libertine. I don’t think [graphic scenes] have ever been without any purpose. Dan [Weiss] and Dave [Benioff] are two very sober, thoughtful men. They have books as a map. Which involve wars, violence, sex. We have certainly not given them an edict or a note that they need to tone down the sexual content in the show.
According to Lombardo, HBO is a responsible broadcaster and those in programming have two responsibilities: to be responsible and not to have gratuitous sex and violence. He also points out that as an adult, pay-TV channel, HBO has more freedom than free-to-air broadcasters.
As long as I feel that [violence] isn’t the reason [people] are watching the show, that it isn’t a show trying to attract viewers with sex and violence, I am not going to play police.

Burberry campaign
Watson begins her professional modeling career by appearing in Burberry’s Fall campaign. The ads, shot by Mario Testino in central London, also feature Tom Guinness Taylor and Charlie France. The campaign appears in the August issues of Vanity Fair, Vogue, British Vogue and Tatler.
Having known and admired the lovely Emma Watson for some time, she was the obvious choice for this campaign: Emma has a classic beauty, a great character and a modern edge. Her charm and intellect and brilliant sense of fun made the whole shoot feel like a picnic on the Thames.
Noah
Watson stars in Noah, a film portraying the story of Noah and his mission by God to save the innocent animals on Earth as rising floodwaters cleanse the planet of mankind’s evil. In the movie, Watson portrays Ila, the adopted daughter of Noah (Russel Crowe) and his wife, Naameh (Jennifer Connelly).
I think it’s a really original take on a genre, on a story, on an idea.
Final People Tree collection
Coinciding with Fairtrade Fortnight, an annual promotional campaign to increase awareness of Fairtrade products, Watson unveils her third and final fashion collection for People Tree. The collection is described as having a summer festival look, featuring floral and check-print tea dresses , denim hot pants, and cotton waistcoats. The actress also reveals that she spent time in Bangladesh to see first hand how the clothes were made:
The design process continued with me trying on each and every piece to get the fits just as I wanted them and then I visited Bangladesh to see the clothing actually being made and meet the people making it. It was an incredible and life-changing experience – I really wish everyone had the chance to see the difference Fair Trade makes with their own eyes.
People Tree collection launch
Together with People Tree, a pioneer in Fair Trade and environmentally sustainable fashion, Watson launches a fashion collection made mostly with organic and fair trade cotton. The clothing is made entirely by hand by fair trade groups, helping to create livelihoods for disadvantaged groups in Bangladesh, India, and Nepal. The fashion line, which is aimed at the 16-24 age group, is composed of 26 women’s styles, 15 for men, and a small accessories range. The collection is available at People Tree concessions and online.
I was excited by the idea of using fashion as a tool to alleviate poverty and knew it was something I could help make a difference with. I think young people like me are becoming increasingly aware of the humanitarian and environmental issues surrounding fast fashion and want to make good choices but there aren’t many options out there.
Will not recast Murphy’s role
Thrones directors announce they will not recast Murphy’s role of Ser Denys Mallister.
We will not be recasting J.J. Murphy. He was a lovely man, and the best Denys Mallister we could have hoped for. And now his watch is ended.
JJ Murphy dies at age 86
Murphy dies at age 86. Murphy was cast to play Ser Denys Mallister, the oldest member of the Night’s Watch, in the fifth season of Game of Thrones. After only four days into filming his scenes, the actor collapses and dies.
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
In the third installment, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Watson returns as Hermione Granger, helping Harry, Ron, and Professor Remus Lupin (David Thewlis) find Sirius Black, an escaped serial killer, while uncovering the mysteries surrounding the night Harry became an orphan.
Oh, I loved it! It’s my favorite book, my favorite script, and it’s such a fantastic part for Hermoine. She really comes into her own, and I think you see a really different side to her than you have in the other two [films]. I think it’s much more personal, and this film has really tested and challenged me, and I’ve definitely enjoyed it the best out of the three because of that … I hope that I did her justice and that she’s what (fans) thought she’d be.
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
Watson stars as Hermione Granger in the film Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, the second installment of the Harry Potter series. In the movie Harry, along with Hermione and Ron, must figure out what is causing the mysterious attacks at Hogwarts.
I think in the second book Hermione kind of develops. She becomes more friendly with Harry and Ron and she definitely becomes more easy going.
