Sarasota rally
Trump gives a speech to a rally in Sarasota, FL. He says The New York Times should give him an apology over the Kovaleski affair.
I took a lot of heat about a reporter. What really happened? I think it’s very important for me to say. I made a statement that – I was talking about groveling – a reporter was groveling. He took back a statement he wrote 14 years ago…I don’t knock people that have problems, believe me. I would never mock a person that has difficulties….Who else is going to take on The New York Times? I don’t care. … They’ll probably be out of business pretty soon….The problem is, [Kovaleski]’s using what he’s got to such a horrible degree, I think it’s disgraceful…I think the New York Times frankly should give me an apology. I’d love to have the apology before they go out of business.
Releases second Kovaleski statement
In response to Kovaleski’s claim that he interviewed him in the 80s, Trump releases a statement saying he doesn’t remember him.
I have met thousands of reporters over my lifetime. Very few treat me fairly, but those that do I have great respect for. Serge Kovaleski, who said he interviewed me in the 1908s is grasping at straws because he is embarrassed because after 14 years, with no retraction, he tried to change his story.
His meeting with me may have been the highlight of his career, it certainly wasn’t the highlight of mine. While I may have met him, I don’t remember him — he made no impression upon me. I have done many day in the life stories with reporters – the entire day in the life usually lasts for a very short period as far as the actual reporting goes. I leave this message to Serge Kovaleski who I look forward to meeting or meeting again someday. Don’t change a story you wrote 14 years ago — you lose all credibility.
The good part for Serge is that he has gotten more publicity in the last 48 hrs than he has in the past 35 years — and he obviously loves it which is why he keeps pushing this ridiculous story — but that’s fine with me.
Releases Kovaleski rebuttal
Trump releases a statement concerning the claims about him mocking Kovaleski.
In my recent speech before 10,000 people in Myrtle Beach, SC, I merely mimicked what I thought would be a flustered reporter trying to get out of a statement he made long ago. If Mr. Kovaleski is handicapped, I would not know because I do not know what he looks like.

Hannity interview
Trump is interviewed by Hannity on his Fox News show. Trump talks about ISIS, refugees, and attacks by the Republican Party.
I’ve been telling you, on your show, for three years now: you have to attack the oil…They were laughing, ‘Oh how crazy!’…Now all of a sudden, three-four days ago, after Paris, they start attacking the oil, doing exactly what I said.
Mocks Kovaleski
After Kovaleski says he did “not recall anyone saying there were thousands, or even hundreds, of people celebrating,” Trump mocks him at his rally in Myrtle Beach;
Written by a nice reporter. Now, the poor guy — you ought to see the guy: ‘Uh, I don’t know what I said. I don’t remember. Oh maybe that’s what I said.’ This is 14 years ago. They didn’t do a retraction.
The New York Times claims that Trump is mocking Kovaleski’s disability (the reporter has arthrogryposis), calling his actions “outrageous”.
Myrtle Beach rally
Trump gives a speech at Myrtle Beach , SC, with Melania, and his family, the first time Melania has been seen on the campaign trail. He criticizes Obama.
Look at our inner cities…I call him [Obama] the great divider. I am going to be a unifier.
Trump also calls on Americans to take action and report suspicious activity in their neighborhoods.
The real greatest resource is all of you, because you have all those eyes and you see what’s happening. People move into a house a block down the road, you know who’s going in. You can see and you report them to the local police. You’re pretty smart, right? We know if there’s something going, report ’em. Most likely you’ll be wrong, but that’s OK. But let the local police go in and check out and you get rid of this stuff. That’s the best way. Everybody’s their own cop in a way, you gotta do it. You gotta do it.
Trump also calls up a man who is wearing a Trump wig to the stage (42 minutes):
This is what I call a real supporter, Wow! Are you married? [To wife] Are you happy with your husband? She said yes! She fantasizes that he’s really the real Donald Trump.

‘Trump can shut his big mouth’
UFC’s McGregor criticizes Trump for his negative tweet about Rousey (he had called her “a bad person”).
It’s easy for someone that’s not in there to comment, but it’s different when you’re in there. The emotions are high. It is what it is. You either want to touch gloves or you don’t. That means nothing, so Donald can shut his big, fat mouth. I don’t give a f-ck about Donald Trump.
Defends Muslim celebration comments
At a rally in Columbus, OH, Trump reads an extract from The Washington Post about U.S. Muslims celebrating the destruction of the World Trade Center buildings.
But the media was going crazy, and one of my people came in, “Mr Trump, I have a story in The Washington Post”. Among the most dishonest people I have ever dealt with are the media. The level of dishonesty is unbelievable. This is a story from the Washington Post on September 18. [reads extract]. So they’ve come in and we’ve received hundreds of phone calls to my office, and they [the media] have tried to deny it…They’ll find some reason to deny it. They’ll call it a typo. A long and winding typo.
Tweets WaPo Muslim celebration extract
Trump tweets an extract from The Washington Post confirming his earlier statement that U.S. Muslims were celebrating the 9/11 attacks.
Via @washingtonpost 9/18/01. I want an apology! Many people have tweeted that I am right! https://t.co/CpsMxs54qv pic.twitter.com/wrDEhXJlvR

‘Maybe he should have been roughed up’
0 CommentsIn an interview with Fox & Friends, Trump repeatedly calls the heckler “obnoxious”.
I will tell you that the man that was — was I don’t know you say roughed up, he was so obnoxious and so loud, he was screaming. I had 10,000 people in the room yesterday, 10,000 people, and this guy started screaming by himself and they — I don’t know, rough up, he should have been — maybe he should have been roughed up because it was absolutely disgusting what he was doing. This was not handled the way Bernie Sanders handled his problem, I will tell you, but I have a lot of fans and they were not happy about it. And this was a very obnoxious guy, who was a troublemaker, was looking to make trouble, but I didn’t get to see the event.
Black activist punched at rally
After Southall starts shouting “Black lives Matter” during Trump’s speech in Birmingham, AL, a fight breaks out around the protestor. A man punches and attempted to choke him, and Southall ends up on the ground. Trump halts the rally while Southall is taken out of the building.
Get him the hell out of here, will you, please?
20/20 interview
Trump. Melania and his children, are interviewed by Walters for 20/20. Trump, on his earlier marriages:
I’ve gone through tremendous amounts of everything, deals and building companies and taking care of people. It hurts a marriage because you’re working all the time… what I did is I worked so hard that I think it was a very, very hard thing for somebody to compete with.
Melania:
We have great chemistry. To be with a man as my husband is—you need to know who you are… you need to have a very independent life as well and supporting him, you need to be very smart and quick, and be there for him when he needs you.
Says database for Syrian refugees
In an interview with Guilfoyle on On The Record, Trump says any database would be for Syrian refugees. He also says he could not hear the reporter’s questions because the music in the hall was loud and people were calling on him to sign books.
I was really responding to a totally different reporter. I want a watch list. I want a database for the Syrian refugees that Obama is going to let in…because nobody knows where they’re coming from. I hear some are missing. You’re looking what happens in Paris, and all over the place. I want to have watchlists, I want to have surveillance programs. We’re not a bunch of babies. We need protection and we need it now.
Says he did not suggest Muslim database
Trump says he did not call for a database of Muslims.
I didn't suggest a database-a reporter did. We must defeat Islamic terrorism & have surveillance, including a watch list, to protect America

Muslim database comments
In response to questions from an NBC reporter Trump talks about a Muslim database.
TRUMP: There should be a lot of systems, beyond a database, we should have a lot of systems. And today you can do it. But right now we have to have a border, we have to have strength, we have to have a wall. And we cannot let what’s happening to this country happen.
REPORTER: But is it something your White House would like to implement?
TRUMP: Oh, I would certainly implement that, absolutely.
REPORTER: What do you think the effect of that would be? How would that work?
TRUMP: It would stop people from coming in illegally. We have to stop people from coming into our country illegally.
TRUMP: It would be just good management. What you have to do is good management procedures. And we can do that.
REPORTER: Would you go to mosques and sign these people up into the system?
TRUMP: Different places. You sign ’em up at different — but it’s all about management. Our country has no management.
‘Bomb the hell out of ISIS’ radio ads
Trump releases four radio ads for Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina, In one, called Produce, he says that the Paris attacks show that “America needs to get tough on radical Islamic terrorism.”
I will stop illegal immigration. We’ll build a wall on the southern border and yes, I will also quickly and decisively bomb the hell out of ISIS….We will not have to listen to the politicians who are losing the war on terrorism.
Another ad talks about campaign financing:
I’m not taking special interest money, and I’ve called on other candidates to disavow their super PACs but none of them have done it, which means they’ll be puppets for lobbyists, donors and special interests.
Trump ‘Glad to see Rousey lose fight’
Trump tweets that his is glad to see Rousey lose her championship fight, and says she is “not a nice person”.
Glad to see that @RondaRousey lost her championship fight last night. Was soundly beaten – not a nice person!

Refugees ‘a Trojan horse,’ would close mosques
On CNBC’s Squawk Box, Trump says that he will not allow Syrian refugees to enter the U.S.
We have no idea who these people are, we are the worst when it comes to paperwork. This could be one of the great Trojan horses. We cannot let them into this country, period. Our country has tremendous problems. We can’t have another problem…As far as Merkel’s concerned, she ought to be ashamed of herself, what she’s done. She blew it, when she allowed this to happen, this migration.
He says later on MSNBC that it’s time to start surveillance of mosques, and said the U.S. should shut some down if they have radical leaders.
Well you’re going to have to watch and study the mosques, because a lot of talk is going on at the mosques. Well I would hate to do it [close mosques] but it’s something you’re going to have to strongly consider. Some of the absolute hatred is coming from these areas. … The hatred is incredible. It’s embedded. The hatred is beyond belief. The hatred is greater than anybody understands. I know so many people, Muslims, who are such unbelievably great people, and they’re being so badly tarnished by what’s happening now, it’s a shame.
Says guns would have stopped Paris attack
On CNBC’s Morning Squawk, Trump says France’s gun control laws contributed to the Paris attack
And by the way, France is — France and Paris is one of the strictest in the world with guns. Those people were sitting there with no guns whatsoever — hundreds of people. There wasn’t a gun in the room except for the bad guys. Had there been some guys carrying a .45, had there been some guys with a gun, there would have been a shootout and probably the primary people that got whacked would have been the killers. So, you know you can say what you want about all of these people that preach guns but France, you can’t get any tougher than peace or any tougher that were France. These people walk into a room with hundreds and hundreds of people not a gun in the room except the bad guys. And they just said, ‘Come here – boom, come here — boom.’ They just shot these people at will for a long period of time and killed them and had there been other people carrying weapons, you would have had a lot different story, believe me.
Trump Legere Twitter exchange
Trump and Legere have a Twitter exchange after Legere calls out Trump for disparaging remarks he made toward UFC fighter Ronda Rousey. Trump claims he is a T-Mobile customer and has experienced poor service from the company.
https://twitter.com/JohnLegere/status/666049308618280961
.@JohnLegere @TMobile John, focus on running your company, I think the service is terrible! Try hiring some good managers.
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) November 16, 2015
The exchanges continue, with Leger posting of graffiti of Trump as a pile of excrement.
