McGregor, Draymond Green feud on Instagram

Makes Statement0 Comments

McGregor posts a photo of himself on Instagram, wearing a Golden State Warriors’ No. 23 jersey. This upsets NBA player Draymond Green, who tells McGregor:

We rocking with Floyd (Mayweather) bro not you… take that off bruh.

McGregor responds in two posts:

That’s CJ Watson mate. I don’t know who the fuck you are. No disrepect tho kid, keep hustling and stay in school.

Now ask yourself why I’m rocking C.J when I don’t know or give a fuck about basketball. I dribble heads off the floor. Not a ball. This is no game here kid.

McGregor’s choice of wearing a C.J. Watson jersey has subtext to it: Watson was linked to Mayweather’s domestic abuse case between him and former partner Josie Harris in 2010.

Rockets 128-115 Warriors Game 4

Match Report0 Comments

The Rockets win 128-115. Harden scores 45 points, Howard scores 14 points and 12 rebounds. Thompson scores 24 points, Curry scores 23 points and Green scores 21 points for the Warriors. Golden State leads West Finals 3-1. Coach McHale on James:

James had a phenomenal game.

Curry on concussion:

It was all minor stuff compared to how it looked. But I’ll get some good rest (Monday night) and be ready to go … since it happened to now, nothing has gotten worse.

Harden on Game 4:

I always want to take it out on my opponent in a good way. Just being aggressive, taking shots, getting to the basket, not really forcing anything and allowing the game to come to me.

Howard on possible game suspension:

I hope not. But there’s nothing I can do about it at this point. It’s never my intention to hurt anybody on the floor. My reaction was to try to get him off me, but I can’t react that way.

Warriors 115-80 Rockets Game 3

Match Report0 Comments

The Warriors win 115-80. Curry scores 40 points, Thompson scores 17 points and Green scores 17 points, 13 rebounds. Harden scores 17 points and Howard scores 14 points and 14 rebounds for the Rockets. Golden State leads West Finals 3-0. Coach Kerr on Curry:

He’s had a brilliant season. The shooting is hard to describe because I don’t think we’ve ever seen anybody shoot the ball the way Steph does off the dribble, off the catch.

Curry on Game 3:

We understand it’s a special moment, it’s just we’re wrapped up in our day to day grind of preparing for games and going out and exerting all the effort we need to make this story happen. So it’s kind of hard to remove yourself from those emotions.

Howard on Game 3 loss:

We just can’t quit on each other. We’ve come too far. We’ve been through too many battles to just allow it to end like tonight … we’ve just got to man up.

It really stretches people out. Houston does the same thing. It was an interesting chess match, because they like to go small and we like to go small.

Harden on Game 1 loss:

You can’t give a really good shooting team easy layups and confidence. That’s what we did in the second quarter.

Coach McHale on Howard’s injuries:

Hopefully Dwight is healthy and we can play big. We didn’t have that option with Dwight out.

I think I said the first couple games, `Our defense was good enough, but it wasn’t championship defense. I was wrong. This is what it’s going to take.

Coach Joerger on Game 5 loss:

Everybody’s saying we couldn’t score because Tony Allen’s on the floor. We put up 78 without him.

Warriors 101-84 Grizzlies Game 4

Match Report0 Comments

The Warriors win 101-84. Curry scores 33 points, Green scores 16 points and ten rebounds, Thompson scores 15 points. Gasol scores 19 points and ten rebounds, Randolph scores 12 points and 11 rebounds and Conley scores 10 points for the Grizzlies. The West Semifinal Series is tied 2-2. Coach Kerr on Game 4 win:

Tonight we took a step towards understanding that sense of urgency and kind of competitiveness and physicality to the game. It was probably our most competitive effort, definitely of the series, but probably of the playoffs just in terms of understanding you got to play every second.

Bogut:

This series could have been close to over if we hadn’t come out like we were supposed to tonight. You know it’s never over until the end, but being down 3-1 going home is a pretty tough task, so 2-2 right now in a three-game series and we like our chances.

Coach Joerger on Memphis loss:

We lost our composure early in the first half, especially in the first quarter. We needed to keep that closer in the first quarter. We had a chance there. Our offense really struggled tonight, and it put our defense in a bad way.

Golden State 101-86 Grizzlies Game 1

The Warriors win 101-86. Curry scores 22 points and seven assists, Thompson scores 18 points and Green scores 16 points. Gasol scores 21 points and nine rebounds, and Randolph scores 20 points and nine rebounds for the Grizzlies. Golden State leads West Semifinals 1-0.

Curry on Warriors wins:

I think now we’ve got the cobwebs out of our offensive game. We should be able to build some momentum.

Coach Joerger:

You just can’t keep giving those guys shots at you. and I thought that’s what happened.

Allen on Golden State fans boos:

I just heard the first horn and I went out there. I thought they knew to run off the court. That’s the least of my worries.

Warriors 109-98 Pelicans Game 4

Match Report0 Comments

The Warriors win 109-98. Curry scores 39 points, Thompson scores 25 points and Green scores a double-double (22 points and ten rebounds). Davis scores a double-double (36 points and 11 rebounds), Gordon scores 29 points and Anderson scores 10 points for the Pelicans. Golden States win West First Round Series 4-0.

Davis on Curry:

I knew he was crafty, I mean, a great shooter. There’s nothing you can do. You try to pressure him and run him off the (3-point) line and he’ll hit incredible shots in the lane. You back off so he won’t drive, he’s going to hit a 3. So you’ve got to pick your poison and he’s a tough player to guard. That’s why he’s (a candidate) for MVP.

Curry on Golden State sweeps series:

I’m proud of the way we played, the way we competed. Four in a row is a good feeling. We’re going to rest up.

Coach Williams on Curry:

What we’ve been through playing against Steph sometimes, it’s not fair. Steph is like, he’s on a different level – some of the shots he makes, his command of the ball, his ability to finish. The moment doesn’t bother him.

Warriors 123-119 Pelicans Game 3

Match Report0 Comments

The Warriors win 123-119. Curry scores 40 points, Thompson scores 28 points Green scores a double-double (12 points and 17 rebounds). Davis scores a double-double (29 points and 15 rebounds), Evans scores 19 points and Barnes scores 11 points for the Pelicans. Golden State leads West First Round Series 3-0.

Curry on Game 3 performance:

You know how big of a deal it is to come back from a deficit like that in the playoffs on the road, in a game we knew was very important for us to really take control of this series. So I think we should celebrate the accomplishment.

Thompson:

We haven’t been in that position a lot this year, but mental toughness and resilience is probably (among) our best traits. It was an amazing way to finish the game.

Davis on Pelicans loss:

Against a team like this, you can’t relax. “You’ve got to keep being aggressive and we missed shots. … We’ve got to do a better job executing and following our game plan, especially late in the game.

Warriors 106-99 Pelicans Game 1

Match Report0 Comments

The Warriors win 106-99. Curry scores 34 points, Thompson scores 21 points, Green scores a double-double (15 points, 12 rebounds). For the Pelicans, Davis scores 35 points, Pondexter scores 20 points and Gordon 16 points. Warriors leads West First Round Series 1-0. Curry:

I was locked in and focused the whole night. In those situations, you want to get the crowd back into it. There’s a weird kind of tension, especially in the second half when they made a couple runs. But in the playoffs, you have to expect anything. And whenever you’re on the floor, just try to make an impact.

Coach Kerr:

It’s good for us to have to deal with the feeling in the building, especially as a favorite, when a team starts to come back. You have to feel that. That’s all part of it.

Davis:

I think the whole team was nervous. This is our first time as a unit in the playoffs, and our pace was good. We were moving fast, but our minds were moving fast as well.

Warriors 110-101 Timberwolves

Match Report0 Comments

The Warriors win 110-101. Curry scores 34 points, Thompson scores 23 points and Green has a double-double (13 points and 14 rebounds). Wiggins scores 17 points for the Timberwolves.

Coach Kerr:

It felt like we went through the motions a little bit. Maybe this is just two weeks of already knowing our position, I don’t know. We just weren’t sharp.

Bogut:

They only had seven guys active so we knew they were guys playing for their contracts and NBA lives. They came out and gave us good battle but we kind of need that. I think it’ll help us in the playoffs.

Coach Saunders:

We could easily have phoned it in. t’s encouraging to see the guys work hard. With our injury situation we basically played just seven guys.

Pelicans 103-100 Warriors

Match Report0 Comments

The Pelicans win 103-100. Davis scores 29 points, Pondexter scores 20 points. Curry scores 29 points, Green scores 24 points for the Warriors. Davis:

We look at ourselves as an elite team. We feel like we can play with anybody and we can beat anybody on any given night. We just got to go out there and play that way.

Curry:

I thought I drew the foul on the pump fake because he kind of came to me and I got contact. The ball dropped and there was obviously no whistle. I got it right back and I had pretty clean look after that that I thought was going in.

Pondexter:

We had a heck of a game down the stretch. Everyone’s hungry. We’re young guys, but we’re learning how to win.
