I truly wanted to explore the issue of racial ownership and authenticity…I wanted to see how the words rang differently or indeed the same, coming from two different actors, with two different racial backgrounds.

To participate in TEDx talk

Sulkowicz will participate in a TEDx talk at the TriBeCa Performing Arts Center in New York on 20 Oct, with several others on the topic of “borders and belonging.” According to the program:

[The speakers] will explore the physical and socially-constructed borders between peoples, places and communities, as well as challenge how borders divide and unite us.

Will appear on ESPN Magazine’s ‘Body Issue’

ESPN announces that McGregor will appear in this year’s ESPN The Magazine‘s “Body Issue,” an annual collection of photographs of famous athletes in either nude or semi-nude conditions. Prior UFC stars to appear have included Jon Jones, Ronda Rousey, and Miesha Tate. The full roster of athletes to be featured in the magazine will be released June 20, with the issue on sale from July 8.

Takes time off to film first movie role

Holloway says he is taking some time off to appear in Den of Thieves, a film about a group of bank robbers in Los Angeles on the run from the LAPD. It’ll be Holloway’s first movie role, and he’ll be playing one of the robbers.

I hope [the Aldo fight will happen], I hope so. You know, old boy’s taking so long that I had to take something else. I’m going to be shooting a movie now, so we’ll see what happens.
