So my agent called Ridley—the guy he’d called weekly for a year—and asked, Would you consider Geena for the part? Ridley said, Anyone with this much passion obviously deserves a meeting. My contract came up on Oct. 31 and we negotiated back and forth a little bit. But it wasn’t about the money for me, really. There were some other things that were going on that helped sway my decision. It wasn’t a contract dispute, if that’s what you want to call it. It was a number of different things — I’ve been on the road with WWE for eight years straight, and it takes a toll on your body when you’re going 250-300 days a year.

I started to chant. Once, I chanted, went to the studio, and put down a vocal, just like that. Ike was so excited that he gave me a big wad of money and said, Go shopping! I thought, This chanting stuff works. I was hooked. I still believe in the Lord’s Prayer. I find a form of the Lord’s Prayer in Buddhism.
