White: Mayweather-McGregor negotiations ‘a nightmare’
While making an appearance on The Herd with Colin Cowherd, White confirms he had September 16th in mind for McGregor and Mayweather. However, he wasn’t able to get the deal done in time.
The reason they got my date is because I couldn’t get my deal done on time, so they got the date. Listen, life moves on, man. We don’t wait for anybody. If the fights are going to keep rolling – you know, I didn’t get the deal done fast enough so I lose the date. That’s how it works.
He also says he may walk away from the deal.
I’m not hinting that it’s getting close at all. I knew that this thing was going to be a nightmare to get done, if it can even be done. We’ll find out. Obviously, both guys want to fight each other, but what’s the deal? Can the deal be done? That’s the question. It’s not just Mayweather. It’s both sides of this thing are going to be hard to get done. And absolutely, there’s going to be a point where I’m done. This isn’t what I do, this isn’t my business and I’m definitely going to walk away.

White says that, despite uncertainties about the Mayweather fight date, McGregor wants to fight twice in 2017.
Conor wants to fight. Conor wants to fight Floyd, Conor wants to fight twice this year, so we’ll just have to see how this thing plays out…Obviously I was expecting him to fight this summer. That is not the case so we’ll see what happens. I know he recently came out and said he’d like to fight in November. I like Georges St-Pierre, he’s a great guy… we’ll see. We’ll see what happens.

Diaz turned down Ferguson fight, will not fight this year
Diaz says he turned down a fight with Ferguson, and that he will not fight this year.
I’ve seen rumors about me and my brother fighting people but we haven’t done much talking. I think [the UFC] is trying to bring us back in but all the pressure is coming from these rumors [about who we are fighting]. I plan on sitting out this year and I’m fighting nobody. [The UFC] wants me to fight Tony Ferguson,” Diaz said. “I gladly accepted that fight and then I gladly turned it down because of circumstances. I’m all about the money. Mayweather: McGregor could beat me

Tarver: McGregor has ‘not a chance in hell’ against Mayweather
Tarver, who was a 1996 Olympic boxer, says McGregor cannot compete with Mayweather in boxing.

Lose Yourself writer: New Zealand ad is ‘blatant rip-off’
Bass, who wrote the guitar riff for Eminem’s Lose Yourself, testifies in the High Court in Wellington about the development of the song with co-writer Luis Resto, who replaced some of the guitar elements with keyboards in order to remove some of the rock feel of the song without losing the hip hop tone.
I picked up a guitar and started playing that opening guitar chord. At that time, I didn’t know if it was a song or not. It took [Eminem] a number of months to author the perfect lyrics that were just right for the beat…It really developed in a little studio we had set up in his trailer [when he was filming 8 Mile].
He denies the chords sound like Led Zeppelin’s Kashmir and says that while he’d heard the chords played before, he’d never heard them in that particular rhythm– by putting an accent on the third beat he says it was as if he was playing guitar and drums at the same time.
The intention was to create a tense, hypnotic feeling. It starts playing, and never goes away. Along with that drum beat, it actually will hypnotize you, where you are feeling that something’s going to happen.

McGregor criticised by millionaire neighbours
According to The Sunday World, McGregor has been getting complaints from his neighbours.
The Sunday World has learned that residents in the exclusive Ladycastle estate in the K Club complained to the estate’s board of management that they felt they were no longer able to use an area of the cul-de-sac to turn their cars. It is understood the board informed residents that it had prepared a letter to be sent to the owners of the home – which is rented by McGregor – requiring his protection team to confine themselves to his property.

Showtime Exec: Mayweather v. McGregor is ‘at a standstill’
A Showtime executive says there has been little progress on a potential McGregor-Mayweather fight. Showtime has hosted every Mayweather PPV since he signed with them in 2013 and will be the carrier for the super fight if it ends up happening.
The biggest battle in Mayweather-Pacquiao was both guys really thinking that the other wanted to do it. That part has happened [with McGregor and Mayweather], so I think the real question – and it’s sort of a black box right now – is where’s the UFC really, on this? Do they, in fact, want it? Dana – speaking on behalf of, I assume, the UFC – is making noises that he’s more open to it but talk is talk. I haven’t seen a lot of progress either internally in the deal between the two of them or externally, the deal between that side and this side. It’s largely at a standstill. There hasn’t been a ton of progress and I think if they don’t move relatively quickly, people may move on. People may tire of it. But it really is something that needs to happen this year, or it probably won’t happen. Floyd’s on 18 months, two solid years come September since he’s fought. He’s still in great shape, but at a certain point, he’s not gonna do it after a while. I think part of the fear on the UFC’s side is that they’ll never see Conor again. If he makes 50, 60, 70 and then you never see him in the ring, and he retires in Ireland and so much for their megastar.
