And of course they had to come to the greatest city in the world to do a press conference. So, whether it is Floyd Money Mayweather, or whether it is the Notorious Conor McGregor. McGregor, Mayweather trade insults at Toronto Press Tour show

Press Conference0 Comments

Appearing at Budweiser Stage, Toronto, on the second date of their World Press Tour, McGregor takes to the stage first, wearing a tailored light blue suit. Mayweather follows wearing a black TMT Canada flag T-shirt. After a brief face-off the two fighters are supposed to take their seats, but they keep shouting at each other. When it is time for his speech McGregor hits the microphone and leads the crowd to chant ‘Fuck the Mayweathers!’

He won’t do shit. Do f-ckin’ nothing. Fuck Showtime too. [To Showtime Sports CEO, Stephen Espinoza] You little Weasel. You’re a f-cking bitch…When Floyd was 28 he was on Oscar De la Hoya’s undercard. Floyd is an old, weak bitch. 50 strippers on the payroll this man has. What’s he doing with that strip club? Shout out to all the stripper bitches on the payroll. At least Rob Kardashian only had one; he has 50.

A word to all the pundit pussies. You’re f-cking crazy if you think this man has a chance. His head is too small. I’ll bounce his head off the canvas and dribble that shit. he’s never fought a day in his life, he’s a runner. He’s boxings biggest bitch.

What the f-ck is he wearing? He looks like a little breakdancer. 12-year-old. He’s 40! You’re 40 years of age. What are you doing carrying a schoolbag on stage? You can’t even read.

Mayweather starts with his Hard Work chant.

One thing we do know. The f-cking fans can’t fight for you…We’re not talking about being at the top for 1 year, 2 years, 3 years, 4 years. Motherf-cker, 21 years. I can’t read but I make money. [CMG: You owe money]

Then he opens his backpack.

We gonna show you what the boss looks like. If you believe in yourself what you say you do bet your whole fight check you bitch. [CMG: No f-cking problem. Send the fu-cking contract…You know I like you [CMG: You love me]. And you all got the f-cking nerve to believe in a fighter who’s a quitter. I don’t quit. I don’t fold under pressure. I’m the best, and I know I’m the best.

Mayweather takes an Irish flag from a fan and walks around in it, prompting McGregor to grab the backpack.

There’s only about five grand in here!

Mayweather gives the flag to McGregor, who throws it at him. They then face off for a minute before leaving the stage.

FM: Easy work. Easy work.
CMG: Four rounds and your unconscious….
FM: You ain’t making it out of the first round. Keep talking.
CMG: You ain’t knocked nobody out in over 20 years, motherf-cker. Them hands sore already? Do your hands hurt in the cold. You should get them massaged out. I’m a f-ckin’ animal. If this was a real fight you’d be dead already. If this was a real fight you’d be dead already. 20 seconds and I’d smash you within an inch of your life.
FM: Just show up
CMG: I’m right here. You ain’t gonna do shit.

McGregor: I’m building an empire

Interview0 Comments

Talking after the press conference, McGregor talks about Mayweather’s tax troubles:

I believe he has to take this fight. He’s in a very dire financial situation. But, I’m still trying to learn this tax game as well. I’m only new money… Just have the checks ready and I’m gonna steam through your boy, take the bread and take off his whole game.

On his rapid success:

I’m grateful that this is my life. Building up this empire, and I’m still only 28. When Floyd was 28, he was nowhere near this level. I’m just a happy, hardworking young man, enjoying life.

And about his suit and new clothing line:

I love fashion. Fashion is very similar to fighting — it’s all about the small details.

Makes Statement0 Comments

While McGregor is talking to the press about the conference…

The old man came. I don’t know which one was which. The senior, the junior. I got confused.

Mayweather Snr. stats to heckle him, saying he’ll ‘beat McGregor’s ass’. McGregor responds, jokingly calling the older Mayweather ‘junior’.

You’ll get your chance on August 26, Junior. Relax Junior, we’re fighting August 26. I want no trouble, Junior….Your boy’s in trouble. He’s too small. I’m just telling you. His little legs, little core, small head. Yous made a big mistake. You got greedy. You could have been 49 and 0. Rode off into the sunset. He got greedy. You misadvised him. You should have kept him retired. It’s your fault…Your boy is going to sleep. I tell you what though, he’s gonna wake up a better man.

Mayweather: ‘You will go out on your face or your back’

Press Conference0 Comments

After meeting McGregor for the first time onstage at the Staples Center, Mayweather gives his speech:

Hard work! Hard work! I still got it…21 is the number, and they say, ‘Why is 21 a number?’ ‘Cos that’s how long I’ve been kickin’ ass. I don’t give a f-ck if it’s the ring. I don’t care if it’s an octagon. Put me there and I’ll be kicking ass. You put ’em up and I’m gonna knock ’em down like bowling pins.

Mayweather then opens a backpack and pulls out $100 million check.

Let’s we show you motherf-ckers what a $100m fighter looks like. [CMG: That’s for the taxman] You’re right I’m from the IRS and I’m gonna tax your ass…We knew I was the A-side that’s why this bitch has to come to the boxing ring. He look good for a seven figure fighter. I’m a nine-figure fighter.

We talking about from the 90s to now. We talking about World Champion 18 years. And you know what? If you want eight-ounce gloves on, you put four-ounce gloves on. Don’t fool the public. And we know Mr Tap-Out like to quit. And you will wave that white flag. I guarantee you go out on your face or on your back.

You can do whatever you want to do. But God don’t make mistakes. And God only made one thing perfect, and that’s my boxing record.

Makes Statement0 Comments

White talks about the upcoming McGregor-Mayweather fight.

Conor is a madman. He’s gonna let Floyd know what he’s gonna do and how he’s gonna do it. And everyone’s been saying to me this whole time, ‘Do you think that Conor can really beat Mayweather?’. Look Pacquiao was just beaten by a schoolteacher…I stopped doubting Conor McGregor a long time ago. I told my partner, Lorenzo Fertita a long time ago, ‘I don’t know if this kid can fight, but if he can even throw a punch, he’s gonna be a huge superstar’…Last night I landed at LAX and Conor landed at the same time from Ireland. He gets off, looks like he was just fitted at Armani and says, ‘I will knock this man out in four rounds’.
